Today is Issue is a BMI solenoid acting goofy. I installed the so annoyed couple months back and the customer wasn’t having issues with some of his dash things not working and the clutch fan not engaging for his air conditioner. After pulling things apart, I found that the factory wired in the battery isolator solenoid that I took out to wire in this BMI two the chassis ignition controlled fuse panel. I don’t know why you would wire in your battery disconnect solenoid to power your chassis, ignition control fuse panel and I did not catch that when I first installed this which is the reason why he was losing mirrors the compressor fan the windshield wipers. So I needed to make that fuse panel wired to ignition solenoid to power it but at the same time, I have to isolate it from the system so that the alternator can power and charge the lithium ion batteries. After about two hours are trying to figure out what the hell the factory did, that’s what I came up with. So I have to add an another solenoid and have that hot tap that into the ignition switch so that it powers those few sections when the key is on and then do the same thing for the BMI relay so that when the key is on it charges, the battery is off the alternator. Needless to say sometimes I miss things and I have to do some further investigating to get it figured out, but I am sure happy. I got this figured out for the customer.
