Things they don't tell you about being a mechanic:
Your hands are never fully clean. Ever.
You will diagnose a car perfectly, order the right part, and it will arrive wrong. Then wrong again.
Customers will describe a noise with their mouth. You will somehow have to find it.
You will work in 110°F heat, on a 200°F engine, lying on concrete, with a tool that doesn't quite fit.

And you will still show up the next day.
