Since its debut in 1986, the race has become one of the signature events of every meet.

There was Turf Paradise.

When the track opened in 1956, it became Arizona's first major professional sports venue.

For years, generations of Arizonans gathered here to cheer, celebrate, and experience live sports before the Valley's professional sports boom ever began.

Horse racing helped lay the foundation for Arizona's sports culture.
