Do you know someone who sits in the passenger seat and puts their feet on the dash when you're driving? Here's why they shouldn't.

Here is an X-ray of horrific injuries sustained to the front seat passenger who had their feet on the dashboard at the time of a collision! ⚠️
This shows why you should not put your feet on car dashboards!
If you see your passenger doing it stop driving and show them this.
The patient luckily survived but the injuries were life-changing, including pelvic and femur fracture, along with open dislocation of the right hip. Remember this the next time you get in a car!

Pelvic injuries are usually caused by significant trauma, such as road traffic collisions, falls from height or a crush injury. Due to the location of the pelvis, injuries to other structures, such as major blood vessels, the bladder and/or the bowel may occur. This means that the management and long term recovery from pelvic injuries can be complicated.
The bony pelvis is like a ring, with three main joints (a symphysis p***s at the front and two sacroiliac joints at the back) which are held together by strong ligaments. If the ring is ‘disrupted’ due to trauma, the integrity of the pelvis may be altered. This may require an operation, or several operations to bring the pelvis back to its normal ‘pre injury’ state. There are differing types of pelvic injuries, and the treatment required will depend on the extent of the injury and which other structures are injured.

The first line treatment for pelvic injuries is to assess for and treat internal bleeding. The patient may require a procedure called an angiogram to detect exactly where the bleeding vessel is, and then ‘embolisation’ to control the bleeding. Sometimes if the patient has lost a lot of blood they will need to go directly to the operating theatre to have the pelvis ‘packed’ to prevent any further blood loss. This is a temporary procedure which is usually followed by a second operation in the days following the injury. Once the bleeding has been controlled and the patient is stabilised, the bony injuries can then be fixed.

Just like you, everyone at IMPORT CAR SPECIALISTS is taking all the necessary precautions to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 (corona virus). The health and safety of our clients and employees is our top priority. Because we know you depend on us to keep your vehicle dependable and on the road, we have put additional policies and procedures in place. We are also providing “Valet Services” at no additional charge for your safety and convenience.

1. VALET SERVICE - If you are required to or would rather stay home, we will pick up and deliver your car at no additional charge. Call 602-265-6412 or schedule online.

2. CAR SANITATION - All cars will be wiped with anti-bacterial wipes before and after our technicians work on your car. This includes cleaning the steering wheel, interior and exterior handles, shift levers, signal arms and hand brake. The keys will also be wiped clean.

3. COMMON CONTACT AREAS - Our Service reception areas and counter tops including restrooms are continuously being cleaned with bleach, ammonia or other disinfectants.

4. LOANER CARS - As always, our loaner cars are complimentary. The cars are cleaned and disinfected before and after each use.

5. LOANER BIKES - We will have our loaner bicycle fleet ready for use next week.

6. SOCIAL DISTANCING - There is no requirement to have personal contact for your repair needs. WE have key drop boxes and secure lock boxes for key pick up. We can process all credit card transactions over the phone and provide emailed copies of receipts.

7. ANYTHING ELSE? TOGETHER, WE MAKE OUR COMMUNITY - We are more the car guys! If there is anything else, we can do to assist you in these troubling times please let us know. We cannot help if you do not ask. We are here to help.
