what am I doing wrong? Using Rupes compounds, preventing overheating pads with compressed air, cleaning regularly after 3x 3x3 pad passes, using per best practices all around. On FOURTH pad now for a small car. Could it possibly be a bad series of pads from you?!

I could and would be happy to report these pads suck at living a nice useful life…

1959 190 SL. Is it Sport Leicht or is it Super Leicht? We’ll just say it’s Sehr Sauber. We provided a microscopic level of decontamination of the paint, and sealed the deal with a traditional carnauba paste wax. We provided a ton of brightwork enhancement throughout the car, including the bits 99.99% will never look at. Did you know there is so much chrome in places that are impossible to reach? And we detailed the interior and everything else until our cows never came home.

About the car:
25,881 190 SL [W121] were built between 1955-1963 and priced at $3,998 ($4,295 with a removable hardtop), about $43,000 today. This was the affordable little sibling of the exclusive 300 SL (W198 Gullwing, is known to have driven one for some time).

Now $43k might get you into a project car whereas fully restored mint condition examples might fetch $250k. Compare that to about $1.5mil for a steel body 300 SL Gullwing of equivalent condition. Aluminum body…$7-$9mil expected at auction. Both the 190 SL and the 300 SL were replaced by the 230SL “Pagoda” [W113] in 1963.

2018 Model X. The difference before and after detailing might not be so shocking on this project but part of our job is attacking those tight and out-of-sight spaces you wouldn’t normally think needs cleaning. The sum of all this detail work amounts to something we’ll call the X factor. Obv this includes the undeniably clean overall presentation, and tangibly a fully refreshed vehicle for your enjoyment.
