Getting the hang of the scanning . This is three separate scans I merged together. I didn’t have enough reflector markers so I moved some to the other scans . It’s like painting a part . This is going into special software that allows the stl or faceted file to become a 3d model for use in cad not a step file . Basically redrawing it in that software it can handle like 2 million triangles . Inventor fusion and solid works can’t . They handle like maybe 20 to 100k triangles so you have to decimate the data and the scan gets all muted and loss of details . This scan will be a. Cad model soon and then my long travel kit is next!

Bead blasted Humvee portal . My first scan . I scanned the bottom half and the top half and merged them into one file . Fill small holes that the scanner missed which was almost nothing . Next is transforming from a stl file to a step file then into fusion . Then I can model this and modify it for my long travel kit fo the Humvee I’m trying to build . I can move the upper and lower ball joint locations to correct scrub after I mod the upper and lower control arms adding uniballs etc . This is all new to me but it’s reverse engineering a part by scanning it . I’ll 3d print in a reduced scale and have a working front suspension . Learning fusion ,scanning , suspension design all at once ha!

Made a guide out of 1/4inch plate the hike in the plate is concentric with the old broke bolt in the body mount. Used an annular cutter to cut around the weld ed nut inside the channel weld a bing and plate and bam fixed the body mount hole
