Swallows Racing x SNG Barratt

We recently spent the day with Swallows Racing at their Bristol base, where Charlotte caught up with Max for a look behind the scenes.

From the workshops and showroom to the motorsport preparation facility, it was great to see the work that goes on behind the scenes and get a closer look at what makes Swallows such a respected name in the Jaguar community.

As both a valued customer and partner, we're looking forward to what's next. We've been working on something together that we think Jaguar enthusiasts are going to love, so keep an eye out for more soon...

Show us your Jaguar! 🏁

A Series 1 Daimler Sovereign lining up for the race track is not something you see every day!

Tim Morrant races his Sovereign in the Jaguar Championship with the Classic Sports Car Club, taking this classic saloon beyond its usual road-going duties and into the heat of competition. It’s a different side to a car known for its comfort and refinement, and a brilliant example of the variety of Jaguars and Daimlers still being enjoyed today.

We love seeing SNG Barratt parts helping keep these cars going, whether they’re covering road miles or heading out onto the circuit.

Have a Jaguar story of your own? From track-ready racers to long-term restoration projects, we’d love to see what you’re working on.

“Quality is vital to us all.”

October 1961, Browns Lane, Coventry. Every Jaguar on this production line passed through the hands of people who knew their trade, with hundreds of workers playing their part in building the cars that would become Jaguar classics.

That human element is easy to overlook when we look back at these cars today. But behind every beautifully finished Jaguar was a team of skilled people, assembling, fitting and checking each car as it made its way down the line.

That attention to detail is a big part of what made these Jaguars special, and it’s something we understand at SNG Barratt. We’re still working with the same spirit of care and precision, helping enthusiasts keep those cars and the craftsmanship behind them alive.

When the manifold becomes the problem...

Cracks, corrosion and exhaust leaks aren't just irritating. A tired manifold can affect how an engine runs, make itself known under the bonnet and, eventually, turn a small problem into a much bigger job.

Whether you're replacing a worn original as part of a restoration or sorting out an exhaust issue on a more modern Jaguar, SNG Barratt has a range of exhaust manifolds covering classic and contemporary models.

The right manifold can make all the difference.

New York got us thinking... where would you take a Jaguar?

With Jaguar unveiling the new Type 01 in New York, we started thinking about the places Jaguars have always seemed to belong. Not just parked outside them, but actually driven there.

Berlin. Prague. Istanbul. Florence.

Different roads, different landscapes, different reasons to keep going. The E-Type in our image feels right at home on European roads, and it got us wondering where you’d point the bonnet if you had a Jaguar, a full tank, and nowhere else you needed to be!

So, where would you take yours?

Before the Mk2 became a Jaguar icon, there was the Mk1.

The Mk1 was smaller, more compact and arguably a little more distinctive, with its covered rear wheels and unmistakable Jaguar proportions. Introduced in 1955 as the Jaguar 2.4, it was the marque’s first compact saloon, combining the XK engine with independent rear suspension in a smaller package. The 3.4 followed in 1957, bringing more power and helping establish the formula that would later make the Mk2 such a success.

Today, the Mk1 has a character all of its own. Rarer than its famous successor and instantly recognisable, it’s a Jaguar that deserves plenty of attention in its own right.

Would you take the Mk1 over the Mk2?

XJ12 In Focus.

There's a reason the XJ12 has such a following.

The long bonnet, the V12, the quiet way it gathers speed. Even the details feel considered, from the instruments and switches to the way the interior is put together.

It was built to make covering serious miles feel almost effortless. Four decades later, that's still a pretty good reason to want one.

Staff Picks | Mat Woodhall – Senior Front-End Developer & Dev Team Manager, Bridgnorth UK

Every fortnight, we'll be asking members of the SNG Barratt team one simple question:
If you could own any Jaguar, which one would you choose... and why?

"My favourite Jaguar is the XJ220. I've always loved the fact that the original concept was powered by a V12, although it's a shame that engine never made it into production and was replaced by a twin-turbocharged V6.

The production car was still an incredible achievement, but it does make me a little sad that the world never got to see Jaguar's original V12 vision come to life."

Do you agree with Mat's choice, or would your dream Jaguar be something completely different?

The XK120 was fast. The XK140 was Jaguar figuring out how to make that speed easier to live with.

Introduced in 1954, the XK140 kept the XK120's basic shape and 3.4-litre XK straight-six, but gained more power, more space and better brakes. The steering and suspension were revised too, while the cabin was made noticeably more accommodating.

It was still an XK, just a little less demanding.

And that mattered. The XK140 was fast enough to carry Jaguar's sports-car reputation forward, but civilised enough to make actually using it rather more appealing.

Keeping your XK140 on the road? SNG Barratt has the parts to help.
