The Floathouse Petaluma The Floathouse Petaluma: Sonoma County boat rentals, summer camps, classes and river-related events

09/10/2026

Saturday, September 12: Nothing to do but FLOW. 🌊

A 6.8' high tide at 3:20 pm. A Saturday afternoon. Petaluma celebrating its river. And so many ways to be part of it.

Go upstream with the tide, into the upper reaches of the Petaluma River on our Upstream High Tide Paddle, 2:30–4:30 pm.

Go downstream with it on our Downriver Run, 3–5 pm, all the way to Lakeville Landing Marina—then step into Sundrop Sauna for sauna + cold plunge, 5–6:30 pm.

Or stay closer to home. ❤️

We’re open late until 7:30 pm, with last boats out at 6:30, and DJ Bish will be spinning on the dock from 5:30–7 pm as the sun starts heading down.

And with the Petaluma River Craft B**r Fest happening on Water Street from 12–5, the whole neighborhood will be celebrating the river right along with us.

Upstream. Downstream. Around the Basin. On the dock.

There’s something for every body, every schedule, and every kind of Saturday.

So many choices. Easy to make.

Make The Floathouse part of your mid-September Saturday.

Be HERE.

Book your paddle or your late-day rental through the link in bio.

And off you go.

From The Floathouse dock, into the outgoing tide, and down a stretch of the Petaluma River that can only really be witnessed from here: on the water.

Our Downriver Run is a chance to slow down and travel with the river for a while—to feel its endless movement beneath you as downtown gives way to marsh, changing light, birds, reflections and miles of Petaluma most of us rarely get to see.

**********
Unfortunately, we can only show you the beginning of the journey, in the center of downtown Petaluma, and the end, six miles away, at the historic Lakeville Landing Marina, where you can add on a deliciously cozy sauna, and enjoy the bright tingle of a cold plunge, blankets, snacks and the particular kind of laughing that happens after you’ve spent a few hours going somewhere together.

*********
As for the parts in between..?

These miles, these moments, they belong uniquely to you, and the river. We won't intrude.

Once you've arrived, you relax, we take the boats home.

And the river? That's yours to keep.

Next Downriver Run: Saturday, September 12
Also coming up: October 10 + November 7

Come travel with the tide.

In downtown Petaluma, there’s a whole basin full of boats. Just for you.
Oh… and paddle boards. And water bikes. And pedal boats. And kayaks. And canoes. And a giant pedal raft. And pedal boards. And … you get the idea!

Time flies. Witches on brooms, apparently. 🧹

Which means Witches & Wizards on The Water will be here before you know it—and now is an excellent time to start plotting your costume, assembling your coven, and deciding exactly what kind of watercraft goes best with a cape.

On Saturday, October 24, the Petaluma River becomes the place to be for the best kind of Halloween weirdness.

🕸️ The event itself is FREE. The Floathouse, with support from local businesses, provides a custom cotton trick-or-treat bag and map for the Trick-or-Treat Paddle Trail.

🏆 The Floating Costume Contest is FREE, too, with prizes from local businesses for costumes that work—and WOW—on the water. The contest takes place right on the river in front of Grand Central Petaluma.

Need a broom? Bring your own people-powered boat or board, or rent from The Floathouse. 90-minute and 2-hour rentals are available throughout the day—and if you have your heart set on a particular craft for your costume, reserving ahead is a very good idea.

The spooky season will be here faster than you think.

We already did the hard part. 😉

We built The Floathouse. We moved the boats. We put them on the dock. We got them right next to the water.

You can just come down.

This Labor Day weekend, we’re not giving you another thing to accomplish.

You have enough going on already.

You don’t need to turn an hour outside into a workout, a challenge, a personal best or even an “adventure.” You can simply get in a boat and spend some time on the Petaluma River.

Paddle somewhere. Pedal around. Row. Float. Talk. Look around. Notice what’s here.

Or do almost nothing at all.

Because time outside doesn’t have to be a means to an end. Sometimes the whole point is just being there while it’s happening.

Step Outside. We’ve got the boats.

Happy Labor Day Weekend!

Friday: 10 am–3 pm
Saturday + Sunday: 9 am–5 pm
Monday: 10 am–3 pm

**Free Community Yoga on the Dock returns Friday, September 4, from 6–7 pm—and this month, a familiar friend is helping us keep it free.**

We’re so pleased to welcome back **Judy Pasdach, LCSW**, who is sponsoring Community Yoga on the Dock for the **second time**.

One of the things we love most about this program is that it creates connections in more ways than one. You get an hour outside, on our beautiful low dock on the Petaluma River, to move, breathe and spend time in community—and we get to introduce you to local wellness professionals who are doing meaningful work right here in Petaluma.

Judy is a California Licensed Clinical Social Worker supporting parents during the birthing years, including those navigating **perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, pre-term and medically complex births, and the NICU journey**.

She offers an integrative, mindfulness-based approach as well as EMDR therapy, with both in-person and video sessions available.

By sponsoring Yoga on the Dock, Judy makes it possible for us to offer this community gathering at no charge—and helps us build the kind of community we want The Floathouse to be part of: one where people know what resources are around them, know one another, and feel supported.

**Thank you, Judy, for showing up for this community again. 💙**
