This is why it is important to check the service and history of a vehicle before you purchase it.
This customer unfortunately had the timing chain fail which is often known to happen with the BMW N20 engines. We replaced the engine with our very own remanufactured engine which is accompanied by a 2-year unlimited miles warranty.
Always be mindful and do your research before making decisions on a vehicle purchase.
