I have once again been contacted by two separate fellow AMCers each looking for help selling their disassembled but otherwise complete rust free cars due to the realization that they will likely never finish them. One is a Glenn Green and Shadow Black 390, 4 spd, 70 AMX located in Talachapi, CA and the other is a 72 401 auto console Javelin SST located in Palistine, TX and is about 75% completed and it comes with a ton of new parts including a full 4 spd setup with correct console insert. If anyone is interested in either of these cars, each for under $20K, please contact me and I will put you in touch with the owner. The 72 Javelin has very nice fresh bodywork and paint and would be a good candidate to send to my AZ AMC Restorations shop for completion. The color is the 2020 Jeep Punkin Orange and looks amazing in the pictures. And here is a link with some more pictures of the 70 AMX. This is how you can tell the difference between a good body and paint shop vs an exceptional body and paint shop. This is also why people wait for up to two years before we can take in their cars to be restored because we make them as good as they can be and way better than factory. Take a look at the reflections on these two 66 Coronet 500 rear quarter panels. It is not often that you will see big flat and long quarter panels like these two that are totally ripple free. Why? Because we take the time to hand block flat surfaces like these which prevents the little ripples from a power blocker that you so often see on otherwise nice paint jobs which is the difference between good and exceptional body work. Good work isn't cheap and cheap work isn't good!

There is a picture of Rebel Machine Wheels that we restored using restored original term rings and reproduction center caps. We still have to get the blue centerpiece on the center gaps but otherwise they came out pretty darn nice. We conjured up a formula of multiple layers of coatings on the wheels to replicate the factory textured metal flake finish and I think it came out pretty nice.

I get calls all the time wondering if we have any cars available and this 69 Javelin SST with a 70 hood and done in 70 Sonic Silver Poly with base/clear PPG DBC and their top clear coat may soon be available. This is a rotisserie restored car by our shop with our tried and true killer very high performance fully balanced and blueprinted 69 390 engine with Edelbrock heads, Scorpion roller rockers, very bumpy Edelbrock 7132 cam, K1 rods, Wiseco forged pistons, Airgap intake. Hollley 670 Avenger, Mallory Unilite distributor and custom 2.5" side pipe mufflers making it a torque monster running through the TKX 5 spd transmission with custom center console (I need to find the other picture of the center console and dash but included one from an AMX that is basically the same.) The inside has very nicely done custom pleated seats and matching door panels and the outside has the shortened 70 hood which looks great and has painted lower C Stripe, 15x8 Trans AM Racing Engineering 15x8 rims with 235/60 front and 255/60 rear tires and all new exterior chrome parts. This Javelin does not have AC but it can be added easy enough as a $3K option (picture from an AMX for reeference).

We finished this car in late 2023 and it is still a fresh restoration with very few miles since being returned to the owner. I will get a good picture of the car's own interior with the next couple of days but have included a picture of an AMX we did with the same setup. The owner is considering selling it due to our finishing up another car he asked us to rebuild. It is currently located in California but may soon be brought back to my AZ AMC Restorations shop for us to sell for the owner. It runs and drives even better than it looks. Price and more pictures will be coming soon.

I have a question for members. As a background, I suspect most of you were aware of my RWB AMC collection that made it onto the cover of the May 2024 Hemmings Muscle Machines magazine. And perhaps some of you were also aware that I sold the collection later in the year due to uncertainty regarding my longevity due to the discovery of a medical issue that signficantly limited my ability to drive them which is now thankfully behind me. But at the time I made the decision to sell the collection, the outcome of my medical condition was unpredictable so I made the tough decision to sell the collection but only to someone who wanted to keep them together. Part of the sale was an agreement to put a fresh and date code correct 70 390 engine in the TA Javelin (it had the typical warranty service block replacement engine) and repaint the engine bay plus refresh the engine and clean up and repaint the engine bay in the Rebel Machine as well. The buyer contracted a carrier that he knew from his business who made two trips with his covered flat bed tractor trailer in early 2025 to pick up all 5 cars. Knowing the the collection would soon be gone, my darling wife got permission from the article's author and the magazine's editor to have the cover reproduced so she coule give me a large size framed picture of it as a surprise Christmas present which is now hanging in my garage. I had been looking to display all the custom license plates that I had for each car together with the framed picture and today I finally got around to putting them all together.

So here is the big question I welcome feedback on. I can either leave the plates as shown with good alignment of each plate near the appropriate car OR should I move the picture over to one side or the other so the plates can be positioned in the exact order show in the picture rather than split them up on each side of the picture. What is your opinion? Do you recommend leaving it as is or should I move the picture over to one side so the plates can be next to it in the same order and alignment as the cars in the picture? They are in effect already aligned like the picture but they are separated which is different from the picture. Your thoughts and opinions will be much appreciated.

The Commodore Blue 390 auto AMX is nearly completed. This one had a ton of tin worm damge which literally required a couple of hundred hours of metal work throughout the body plus installing multiple patch panels, but it is drop dead gorgeous now. We still have to get the new R134A compatible hoses made (it goes in next Monday for that work) and have the white C Stripe installed. Pluse we use a crusty old shop owned driver's seat until the car is ready to go home but it is otherwise done.

We always try to do a final photo shoot on every car we restore. This one is a particularly interesting restoration in that it was a bare chassis with no doors, no glass, no hood, no fender and no interior when we started. It also has a full 3" X pipe with electric dumps plus Ultraflow welded mufflers and sounds great. It came out really nice!
