I have a customer looking for a 71 SC/360, preferably one that is already done but if not, one that does not need a full restoration. Must be the real deal and not a clone. Any color will likely do so this pictures is just for reference. Anyone know of one that might be available if a qualified buyer came knocking?

Some of you may recall the ugly brown turd 73 Javelin AMX that had rotted quarters and a dented rear tail light panel from a year ago. It is going to a new Owner today and looks just a little bit different. We offered to replace the front springs but the new owner likes the stance so it’ll stay that way and the rear springs will settle back down the next month or two. As some of you may also recall, the car previously had the Calvert Racing mono leaf spring however which we reverted all suspension back to factory AMC Springs, which had not been on a car for a while so they will settle down over the next couple of months. Our mission and AZ AMC Restorations is to make people’s dreams come true and this car is a great example of how we do that.

We offered to replace the front springs but the new owner likes the stance so it’ll stay that way and the rear springs will settle back down the next month or two. I am going to try this again. We have a customer's 68 AMX that was converted from vacuum wipers to electric but when he did the conversion 40 years ago, he left in the vacuum wiper arm transmission which barely covers enough space on the glass to make a small peep hole in the rain. I am looking for a 68 AMX electric wiper arm transmission but it must be verified do be from an electric wiper motor AMX or Javelin. Anyone have one they would be willing to part with for $$$$ or trade for something you might need for your car? If we cannot find one within the next 30 days I will have to rob the wiper arm transmission off my own 68 AMX yet again and I would really rather not do that for the 2nd or 3rd time since we restored it because one of these day, somebody will slip and scar up my own car's freshly restored cowl which is currently in beautiful perfect condition.

As discussed with a few friends and followers on this page, I have been attempting to find an interesting 1953 convertible which is the year I was born. 1953 was a relative awkward time with regard to both automotive engineering and design however a couple of amazing cars stand out amongst the crowd and are timelessly beautiful automobiles with interesting mechanicals . I have always loved the 53 Skylark Convertible but the prices for nicer versions of those cars are currently very high so I recently turned my attention to lesser knows cars like a 53 Packard Carribean convertible or a 53 Nash Healey convertible, both of which are very hard to find and are gogeous automobiles from that era. If anyone knows of a private owner of one of these three fine pieces of automotive history that may be for sale, I would love to hear about them. Please note that I am getting too damn old to do another restoration project so any referrals need to be for complete and running cars that can be driveable without having to do any major restoration work.

I don't normally enter my 68 AMX into judged car shows but the show I brought it to yesterday in Skull Valley, Arizona judged my AMX as the best muscle car which was quite an honor given how many other really nice muscle cars were there including the gorgeous Chevelle SS 396 right next to me. Getting the award was a very pleasant surprise!

one of our customers has a electric wiper conversion from vacuum on his 68 AMX. The prior owner did not put the new wiper transmission in rather they just jury rigged the vacuum wiper transmission to the electric wiper motor rendering the wipers nearly useless. Does anyone have a spare 68 AMX or Javelin wiper transmission with the small heads available that they would want to part with? Please note that the 69 and up electric wiper transmission has a bigger head and it not useable on the 68 AMX or Javelin cowl

We finished up another two seater AMX today and it was met with enthusiastic approval by its owner, who will be getting it back within the next couple of weeks. This is a great example of how we do cars at AZ AMC Restorations where we make them exactly the way the customer always wanted them but did not have the means or time to do so 30 or 40 years ago. In fact, that’s exactly the way we did my personal 68 AMX; exactly how I always envisioned it could be! Can we do pure stock restorations? Sure, and we’ve done many of them that way. But that’s not the way most of our customers want their cars done rather, they want them done how they had always hoped they could be over the years. And that’s what it’s all about. We make people’s dreams come true.

UPDATE! The family just told me that they accepted an offer from a collector in Canada so like the last one, this car was scooped up within 24 hours of it being posted on FB

This week I received a call from an owner of a 390 auto with factory AC Donohue Javelin we restored a couple of years ago that wants to sell it due to personal reasons resulting in the car no longer being driven. It currently lives in Canada and is a fantastic running and driving car that looks every bit as good as it drives. I purchased the car in a multi-car deal when it was non operational and hauled it to AZ from Vegas and we started restoring it shortly after it arrived in 2018. And because it was a nearly rust and accident free car with a faded repaint over the factory baked enamel on just part of the body where it had what appeared to be a parking lot scrape, we deviated from our usual strip to bare metal and instead sanded off the repainted areas, fixed the areas that had the scrapes and parking lot dings and repainted the entire car inside and out in PPGs top base coat/clear coat acrylic enamel after expoxy primer sealing the entire car. The sheet metal on this car was so good that we also did not do our usual skim coating the entire car because it was only needed in the areas that had been scraped and parking lots dinged which is a very, very rare find these days.

Like all of our restoration, the engine build received a full balanced and blueprinted forged rotating assembly with a mildly bumped up cam along along with a decked decekd lock and resurfaced heads for a good tight and leak free head to block seal. And like all of our restorations, we upgraded to electronic ignition and upgraded the suspension bushings and installed KYGB gas shock plus added an adjustable proportioning valve. We also replicated the factory wheel looks with aluminum 15x7 trim ring Magnum 500s with 215/65/15 front and 245/60/15 rear radials resulting in the car running and driving like a modern vehicle with a firm and very comfortable tight but also very quiet ride. The engine builder at my shop is a wizard Borg Warner auto trannies and he went through the entire tr**ny with new seals, bushings, bearings, steeles, and bands and it shifts hard enough to chirp both second and third gear. And of course we replaced all the interior upholstery with Legendary components and materials to make the corduroy interior look brand new.

This car sold at BJ Auction for $77K during Covid BEFORE Donohues went through the roof and it is every bit as nice now as it was when we restored it. The onwer is hoping to recover at least most of their purchase cost which is way below market value in today's market. If someone in the US is interested in buying we can help you with getting it back over the border due to it having previously been registered in California before it was sold at auction. With the cost of parts, machine shop charges and materials doubling or trippling over the past 5 years, it would cost nearly double what they are asking to make a car you already owned as nice as this one making this car a great opportunity for someone to own a restored Donohue Javelin with a 390, auto and factory AC at a reasonable price.

The attahced video is from shortly before it went to the new owner who, much to my disgust, flipped it at BJ auction where the current owner purchased it. If anyone is interested, I can get current photos from the owner. The last Javelin I posted was scooped up in a day and was a 69 not a Donohue. If anyone is looking for a Donohue and would prefer an automatic to help our aging knees, this a beautiful and extremely enjoyable car to drive and own.
