A Difficult Goodbye

After much reflection, we've made the incredibly hard decision to close A Mountain View Vacation. This land, and the retreat we built here, have been a labor of love—born from our desire to share the peace and beauty of the mountains with others.

Unfortunately, changing circumstances have made it no longer sustainable for us to continue operating. While this chapter is coming to a close, the memories, friendships, and quiet moments shared here will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Whether you visited once or returned time and again, you helped make this place truly special.

As autumn approaches, we often get the question: "When will the fall colors peak?"

Thanks to Michael Denslow from the Department of Biology at Appalachian State University, we have a science-based map that estimates the peak times for various areas in Western NC, taking elevation and latitude into account.
