This one is long but I feel it needs to be said.
Had someone reach out to me earlier today and told me they decided to go with a "cheaper" option. They told me that they paid $200-300 for the coating from a different detailer. When they told me this I was just shaking my head. Why? Because, I knew that they just paid for a wax job or an amazon/ebay coating job. My cost in product is more than this per job, there is no way a professional grade coating, especially one with a warranty is only $200-$300. You are taking a huge risk with your vehicles paint when you pay for those cheap installs. Remember, you will always get what you pay for. Most professional coatings can run $1000 to $2000 depending on the level or paint correction and what all is being done. This vehicle here (pictured) is a prime example of a cheap install. Look close and you can see what we call high spots (looks like streaks) all in the paint. This was done by someone who didn't know what they were doing. Now, hopefully this is a cheap coating and it can be fixed easily but if it's a legit coating it may be time for Polishing or even wet sanding to fix it. Get it done right the first time folks! Coatings aren't cheap. Especially, professional grade coatings and especially ones that are guaranteeing them for the life of your vehicle.
I see this stuff more and more often… Someone will reach out for a quote and then reach back out months later asking me to fix an issue from a "cheaper" Detailer and then they are paying me to fix the issue on top of what I charge for the coating. Everyone IT IS A FREQUENT OCCURRENCE NOW!!! Let that sink in. MORE AND MORE I am having someone reach back out to me to fix an issue caused by another Detailer! I am Certified with System-X Ceramics, I-Car, PPG, insured, and more importantly, EXPERIENCED! I average about 5-10 coatings a month, sometimes more. Stop fooling around with your vehicles paint and get it done right the first time!
I want to give one final example of someone who recently booked with me. He first contacted me three months ago and has a 90k valued vehicle. He asked for a quote and my background as he wanted a professional do the coating on it, so he said. After I sent him all of that he told me he had someone quote him alot lower. That was three months ago..... He came by recently and wanted a quote to fix what the cheaper guy did and to install Our System-X Lifetime coating. His vehicle was streaked up and the “paint correction” was pretty much non existent! Fyi, he paid $450 for his "cheaper guy".
