DRIVER IMPROVEMENT COURSE-(In Person)🚔 Can be taken voluntarily to reduce insurance rates, by court order,DMV assigned or to reduce/remove points from driving record. The next class Is JUNE 6 @7:30 a.m. Preregistration is not required.
DRIVER IMPROVEMENT CLINIC (Online) -💻To benefit from the course, you must be able to work independently and be comfortable with using a computer. The online driver improvement course and “End of Course” final test can be taken online. The online driver improvement course is an eight-hour course, designed to rehabilitate problem drivers. The course must be completed in its entirety prior to the issuance of certificate of completion. Student identification will be verified through-out training and prior to taking the final test to ensure that the person taking the course is the same person taking the final test. Open book testing is not permitted.The course fee is $100, submitted via PayPal. Technical Assistance must be submitted via the Help Desk by calling 804-943-4280 Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm.
Customers directed by the Court must provide documentation from the court before safe driving points can be awarded. The certificate of completion will be electronically transmitted to all individuals upon successful completion of the Eight-Hour Online Driver Improvement Clinic Course within 24 hours, and will be posted to your driving record within 24 hours of the completion date. You will need a computer with Internet connection and have access to “Adobe Reader DC.” DMV is committed to promoting transportation safety through the certification of quality driver training programs if you have any comments or concerns about this course, call the Department of Motor Vehicles. The toll free number (1-877-885-5790). If the certificate is presented to DMV, it must be printed on 8 ½ x 11 plain white bonded paper with any form of advertisement on the front and back of the certificate. DMV will not accept any certificates that have been altered in any way. This course is available to juveniles and adults. It is your responsibility to determine if the court accepts this computer based driver improvement course. Students may attempt the final exam no more than one time per day, and payment is nonrefundable once the test is accessed. Call 276-546-6061 to register.
DRIVER MANUAL COURSE-(In Person)🚦Required for anyone who has failed the knowledge or road test 3X, in order to retest. The upcoming date for this course is JULY 18 @ 8:00 a.m. Students under the age of 18 must have successfully completed the applicable knowledge (Driver Education Classroom Course or Road Test) before taking the Manual Course in order to retest the fourth time. Proof is required via (DEC-1 Card from the high school where course was taken or Certificate from State Approved Course. Preregistration is required).NOTE: This course Is taught every other month and preregistration is required. The next course is May 23.
RECKLESS & AGGRESSIVE DRIVING EDUCATION PROGRAM -(Online) 🚗This 12-hour Reckless and Aggressive Driver Education Program (RADEP) is intended for drivers in Virginia who have received a reckless or aggressive driving citation and have been ordered by the court to complete a driver education course. The program is designed to meet the general instructional requirements associated with the 12-hour RADEP standard. Upon successful completion,certificate sent electronically within 24 hours. DRIVER EDUCATION CLASSROOM & BEHIND THE WHEEL-(In Person) 🚕Class is scheduled on an as needed basis. (May take either course individually or concurrently to obtain license.
