I have worked the majority of my life on Rt 1 in Langhorne/Penndel since 2001 Davis Acura/AutoTrader/KBB either selling cars or selling advertising to car dealers. I’ve made lifelong friendships there and value the life lessons I learned there as well. The last 4 years I fulfilled my dream of owning my own car dealership and was proud to be a reputable dealer the public could rely on and trust in that area.
Last April my wife and I purchased a second location in Reading, PA.
A location much closer to home, where we stock a lot of vintage cars and I realized this is where my true passion lies. The long commute (over 2+ hours round trip) and being torn in two opposite directions was starting to take a toll on me. All the time spent away from my wife and kids was really affecting me as well.
I decided it was time to make a change so I could be there more for my family. Time to simplify life a bit and to work toward a better work-life balance.
I will not get these years back with them being young and seeing them grow up. Don’t want want to miss these golden years while they still want to hang out with dad and mom! 😁
Thankfully my wife/bookkeeper and staff as well as some key mentors were very supportive and receptive of my plan.
So after much planning and deliberation we closed our doors at Discount Auto of Penndel this month.
One of the biggest stresses for me when considering this decision and something that kept me awake at night was making sure our employees all landed on their feet and I can happily say they have. I cannot thank enough all who supported us in Penndel on this journey: employees, friends, family, customers, vendors and Great Wholesalers etc.

We had a lot of “vendors/partners” that stepped it up when we needed them to get a vehicle sold over the curb in a pinch! Could not have done the business we did without all your help and support!
We are very proud of the business that we did and the 4.9 Google business rating reviews we earned!
We always put the customer first and took care of their needs, even if it cost us money to make them happy with their purchase after the sale.
As this chapter comes to an end, we are grateful for the opportunity Penndel gave us to get where we currently are today and we are looking forward to seeing what the future holds for us in Reading at McGinty Motorcars, LLC.

I will miss all of my daily interactions with our customers, vendors and Wholesalers!
I appreciate when some of our vendors we’re just stopping to hang out to catch up over a coffee or water break! ☕️
Also, RT 1 is a Great place to do business and there should be a book written about all the funny stories over the years going back to the McCafferty Ford and Reedman days…
