📢 Important Announcement 📢

Last Wednesday, the City of Pascagoula made the decision to close our shop and pull our business license to make way for a $14 million development project on our land. While this news has been difficult, we want you to know that this is not the end of our story!

For the past 5 years, we’ve had the privilege of serving the incredible people of Pascagoula, and we are deeply grateful for your support and trust. Though we’ve been run out of our current location, we’re taking this time to regroup, pack up, and prepare to come back better than ever.

We’ll be announcing our new location soon, so stay tuned! In the meantime, we need your help to reduce our inventory before the move.

Please be advised that if you have a vehicle in our parking lot that is not waiting to be immediately worked on, we need you to make arrangements to come pick it up before Wednesday. The city has stated that we have until the 26th before they fine us, and if we cannot get in touch with you, we will have to start abandoned vehicle paperwork and the vehicles will then either be towed or sold. This is not for vehicles that have been recently dropped off. This is for vehicles that have been here for years without the owner getting in touch with us. If you know anyone who has a vehicle here, please let them know. Thank you.

I haven't posted an update in quite a while because life has, for the most part, gotten back to "normal" or at least my new normal I should say. Liz and I have been so busy trying to just stay afloat at the shop and I've had about 12 dental and/or oral surgeon appointments and 2 surgeries since I posted anything last. The first was to extract the teeth that were broken and shifted during the accident. Yesterday, I had the 2nd surgery on my upper jaw to insert the base of the implants in so they can now integrate with the bone over the next 4 months. Then they open my gums back up and insert the posts in the bases that the teeth will attach to. Then back to the dentist to get the final teeth put on the posts!

Luckily about 2.5 months ago my gums were healed enough from the extractions that they were able to make me a temporary partial for the top and bottom so I have actually been able to smile and not have to hide it and be embarrassed. Those 6 or 7 months I spent missing the top 4 and bottom 4 teeth were horrible and something I never want to go through again. I was treated different by a lot of people I came across and at first I would explain to them what happened but after awhile I got tired of it and said f**k em if they want to treat me like that I'd rather just walk away than to even waste my energy justifying what happened and that it's not my fault lol.

Anyway this Thursday I go to the dentist to get my permanent bottom bridge put in! (my bottom jaw was too messed up to do implants, not enough solid bone left to attach anything to so they have to attach over the next teeth I have left on either side and "bridge" across). Then after that like I said I have 4 months of healing before my next surgery to get finished up with the top! It'll be over $25k total once it's all said and done and more than a years worth of appointments and surgeries just to have something that I already had before I was hit by a car while working in my parking lot minding my own damn business but hey at least I'll have really straight teeth after this!!! 🦷🦷🤣🤣😁😁

Also if anyone ever needs an oral surgeon call Dr. Zakkak at Gulf Coast oral and facial surgery off cedar lake. He has made this whole process somehow bearable and I can't recommend him enough!! Such a great guy and by far the nicest and most caring Dr. i've ever dealt with!

Thanks again to everyone out there for all the love and support y'all have sent our way since May!! It has meant the world to me!! I'll keep y'all updated over the next few months!

Sometimes life has a way of reminding you that no matter how bad you think you have it, there is always someone who has it worse. Desmond is a customer of ours who turned in to more than just a customer. We always gave each other a hard time and he knew if he came to the shop he would probably be put to work. Desmond was in a very bad car accident around the same time as Spanky's, but his had a much different outcome. Desmond is now a quadriplegic and is having to learn how to navigate his new world. They have set up a go fund me, and his wife will be at the shop this Saturday, February 17th, accepting cash donations as they now need a wheelchair accessible van. Please stop by the shop or donate as you can. It would mean the world to us and to Desmond and his family. Thank you so much.

To say life threw us a curveball with this accident is an understatement, but we are not ones to back down or shy away. I know we haven't updated in a while, but it's really been more of the same. Doctors appointments are slowing down, but the next major hurdle in Jason's journey is getting the dental work done. The oral surgeons said we have to pay in full, up front, before they will even schedule the appointment. Everyone knows how important our teeth are, not only for practical purposes, but as well as for our mental health. Please join us on this path of hope, healing and resiliancy and help Jason feel better physically and mentally. Your kindness and generosity mean the world to us. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to easing this financial burden thrown at us while we were simply trying to support our family. Well oral surgeon/skull photographer said fractures are healing well but we have at least another 4 weeks before he can get started on fixing my teeth. So if you see me before then just ignore my teeth situation. I know they look horrible you don't have to tell me. I'm working on it. 😂😂😂

On a serious note, I want to thank each and everyone from the bottom of my heart for all the love and support y'all have sent my way. I have never felt so loved in my life and it's nice to see that despite what is said, the world is still full of wonderful human beings that don't hesitate to help when they can. Even if they don't know me. I love you all!!
