One over looked preventative maintenance choir. 36.16 pounds of grass scraped off this deck. Grass left like this will rust through your deck. Rust through all the bolts that hold spindles and other various important parts on the deck. A replacement bare deck for this machine is outrageous. Plus, you’ll be waiting months because these decks are never in stock. Add deck parts you’ll need replaced and labor you’ll probably be better off buying a new mower.

Crush washers are intended to provide a better seal for the drain plug. On the left is the one I took off during an oil change. On the right is a new one. Manufacturers recommend that you change them every time you remove the drain plug. This one, we had to pry off because it had been used to many times. It was also the source of an oil leak.
