🔧 SD² CAR CARE MINUTE — #2 🚗

🛑 WHAT ARE YOUR BRAKES TRYING TO TELL YOU?
Your brakes usually don’t wake up one morning and decide to quit.
They WARN you first. 👀

🔊 SQUEALING?
Could be worn brake pads, a wear indicator, or sometimes simply moisture or debris.
😬 GRINDING?
That’s one you DON’T ignore. Your brake pads may be severely worn, allowing metal-on-metal contact that can damage rotors and other components.
🫨 SHAKING OR PULSING WHEN BRAKING?
There may be an issue with the rotors, brakes, tires, suspension—or another component that needs inspection.
🦶 BRAKE PEDAL FEELS SOFT OR DIFFERENT?
Get it checked. Changes in pedal feel can point to problems in the braking system and shouldn't be brushed off.
🚨 BRAKE WARNING LIGHT ON?
Your vehicle isn't decorating the dashboard for Christmas. 🎄😂
Have it checked.

Here’s today's Car Care Minute:
👉 Your brakes are cheaper to inspect than an accident—and catching wear early may prevent a much more expensive repair.
If something doesn't sound, feel, or stop like it used to, let us take a look.

👇 NEXT TIME YOU DRIVE—turn the radio down for a minute and LISTEN to your vehicle. What is it telling you?

🔧 SD² CAR CARE MINUTE 🚗💨

#1 — WHY DOES MY STEERING WHEEL SHAKE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS?

You hit 55–70 MPH and suddenly your steering wheel starts doing a little dance. 🫨

DON’T JUST TURN UP THE RADIO. 😂

A steering wheel shake can have several causes, including:
🛞 Wheel/Tire Balance — One of the most common causes of vibration at highway speeds.
🛞 Tire Problems — Uneven wear, damaged tires, separated belts or other tire issues can create vibration.
⚙️ Wheel or Suspension Issues — Bent wheels, worn steering or suspension components can sometimes be the culprit.
🔧 Alignment? — Alignment problems usually cause pulling or uneven tire wear rather than a speed-specific steering-wheel shake, but alignment and worn components often need to be checked as part of the overall picture.

And here's the important part:
👉 A vibration isn't something you should just learn to live with.
Your vehicle is giving you information.

Catch the problem early and you may save your tires, prevent additional wear and avoid a much bigger repair later.

Not sure what's causing yours?

Bring it to SD² Street Dynamics² and let us take a look.
