The First Notice of Loss (FNOL)
When an accident happens, most drivers instinctively pick up the phone and call their insurance company first. That first call is what’s known as the First Notice of Loss (FNOL).
Here’s what many people don’t realize: during that call, insurance companies often try to steer you toward one of their “preferred” or Direct Repair Program (DRP) shops. While it may sound convenient, those shops often work under contracts that can put the insurance company’s priorities ahead of your vehicle’s best repair.
💡 What you should know: You are not locked into their choice. You have the legal right to choose where your vehicle is repaired — and your insurance coverage still applies.
At McCarley’s Hail & Collision, we believe your repair should always put safety and quality first. We don’t cut corners or work for the insurance companies — we work for you, to make sure every repair is done the right way.
Let us be your first call!
