One of the things I’ve always loved about Palm Bay is that when someone is hurting, this community doesn’t just watch, it shows up. Time and time again, I’ve seen complete strangers become family simply because someone needed help.
Today, I’m asking you to do that again.
I met a young family today that has been hit by one hardship after another. The wife is courageously fighting an ongoing battle with cancer. Together, they’re raising three young children, and they had just purchased a home here in Palm Bay, hoping for a fresh start.
To help support his family, the husband invested everything he could into a 2003 Ford F-350 for $10,000 so he could start a hotshot trucking business and finally begin bringing in the income they desperately need.
After going to their house with my diagnostic equipment, I found evidence pointing to a failure in the high-pressure oil system, leaving the truck unable to do the one thing they bought it for: provide for their family.
What makes this even harder to accept is that, according to the family, after the sale the seller, Cody Hall stopped communicating with them and blocked all contact. It takes a true morally compromised piece of s**t to sell a truck to this family, let alone anyone, without letting them know of such problems. Cody, you make me sick.
Three kids.
A mother fighting cancer.
A father trying to do the right thing.
And now the very tool they were counting on to change their lives is sitting broken in the driveway.
If you’ve followed me for any length of time, you know this is exactly the kind of situation that gets to me. I cannot stand seeing families trying to get back on their feet only to have life knock them down again.
So here’s what we’re going to do.
I reached out to my friend Gabe Foreman, owner of Proven Performance & Auto Repair, a shop that specializes in diesel repair. Gabe has agreed to work with this family and do everything he can to keep costs as reasonable as possible while repairing the truck the right way.
To properly reseal and repair the high-pressure oil system and make this truck dependable again, the estimated cost is $4,000.
I’m asking the Palm Bay community to do what it has always done so well, rally around a family that genuinely needs help.
If you’re financially able, whether it’s $5, $20, $100, or more, every dollar moves this family one step closer to getting back on their feet.
