3rd Edit: We are ending our ride offer tonight 1/26/26. As much as I'd love to be able to continue,
a.) I have to go back to work, and
b.) As Forrest Gump says, "I'm pretty tired"
I'm editing the original post in hopes that it gets seen again for another 50,000 times.
As of 3PM Monday, as best I can figure I ran over 300 miles inside of Lexington since leaving my house at 4:30am yesterday, and I'll probably run another 100-125 miles before the last ride tonight. I have several more who I need to bring back to their homes before I can quit. If you've already spoken or texted me and I've responded, you're good and on the docket for this evening. Thanks to all the health care workers and managers who reached out for a ride. I was happy to be able to provide this service. I got lots of questions from friends about why I did it, especially for free. My family probably thinks I'm crazy. The best and simplest answer I can provide is that "It makes me feel good". Help somebody today if you can. Tomorrow works too.
Thank you all.
Conn Wilson
Attention medical doctors, trauma nurses, ER staff- anyone with an "essential to life" occupation. (I.E. Someone's LIFE depends on your presence!) If you require transportation to and from your work during the incoming winter storm, as a service to our local community in Lexington, I can provide you with transportation within the city of Lexington, KY for no charge in the event streets become unsafe for conventional travel. 8597713628. Edit: WOW... I had zero expectations this post would blow up like it did. It's just Thursday and I'm already getting calls and messages. Please realize I'm just one guy, in one truck. If anyone else in the off-road community wants to volunteer, shoot me a DM and I'll post your phone number, your location and contact info. I'm really hoping it won't get bad enough to need us but it's not looking good!
2nd Edit: Folks, as much as I'd love to, I can't take any ride reservations. I'll be out and about as much as I can if you want to try and call me. There is just too much uncertainty with how long each ride may last, and where I'm going. If I'm available, I'll answer. This will have to be ran as very "on demand" with no guarantee. Plan ahead. Use me as a last resort. I don't want to make promises I can't keep in the event things are out of my control.
From what I understand, The Fayette Country Sheriff's office provides ride services for essential and emergency workers.
