A little before-and-after dyno action on the Malibu. 👀

Stock 243 heads vs Brian Tooley Racing canted-valve heads

Before: 379 whp
Now: 401 whp

The peak number is nice, but the real gain is upstairs. The new heads are carrying 30–50 more horsepower through the upper RPM range instead of laying over.

And this thing is still about as budget as it gets 😂

250,000-mile stock LQ4 bottom end
BTR Stage 3 cam
Unported Chinese intake
650 carb

It’s already been 6.90s with the old 243-head combination. We haven’t even optimized the top end yet, so I can’t wait to see what it does with the right intake and carb on it.

There’s definitely more left in this old junkyard 6.0. 😎

Last-minute decision to load up the Granny Nova and head to Beacon Dragway for small tire racing tonight.

I’d say it was a pretty successful night—we fought our way all the way to the finals and came home with a runner-up finish.

Unfortunately, an electrical issue with one of the nitrous solenoids showed up before the final, and we couldn’t get it sorted out in time. That’s racing. We’ll track down the problem, get the bugs worked out, and be back even stronger next time.

Huge thanks to everyone who helped, cheered us on, and came by to support us. Congrats to the winner, and we’ll see y’all at the next one! 👊🏁
