Oxford High School Parent Booster Club Helps Build a Memorable Senior Send-Off

For graduating seniors at Oxford High School, the Senior All Night Party (SANP) is more than a celebration. It is a community-supported tradition designed to give students a fun place to gather with their classmates after graduation, while providing parents peace of mind. The event is organized by the Oxford High School Parent Booster Club’s Senior All Night Party Board, currently led by President Stephanie Miconi, Vice President Stephanie Marsden, Secretary Julie Buzzell, and Treasurer Bethany Cicero.

Miconi said the graduation-night event typically runs from late evening into the early morning, with recent parties taking place at the Legacy Center. “It’s really a lot of fun, really a lot of fun,” Miconi said.

In past years, the night has included a silent disco, access to the Legacy Center’s track and Urban Air, photo opportunities, games, and prizes intended to help students celebrate a major milestone together. The Board is seeking input from students regarding activities, vendors, and possible themes for this year’s event.

For the organizers, making the event accessible to every graduating senior is an important part of the mission. Tickets are sold to students, while fundraising helps the organization assist students who may not be able to afford the cost. “We want to make sure everybody in the graduating class can come,” Miconi said. “Ideally, every kid graduating this year will be at this event, having a great time with their classmates.”

The event depends heavily on community support. “This happens because of the community,” Miconi said. “Because of the support we’re getting from the community, none of this stuff is free." Throughout the year, the board organizes fundraisers, which can include a golf outing, can drives, football squares, a possible euchre tournament, and other events. The group’s upcoming golf outing is scheduled for Aug. 29, and organizers are currently looking for golfers and sponsors. Miconi said only about half of the available golfer spots have been filled thus far.

The message from the organizers is simple: Community participation helps make the celebration possible. Whether through attending a fundraiser, becoming a sponsor, playing in the golf outing, or sharing information with others, local support can help create a memorable graduation-night experience for Oxford’s seniors.
