Tow Truck Operator
Tow Truck Operator Duties include but not limited to:
*Driving 12 hour shifts-5 days per week.
*Completion of daily Recap Sheets, Vehicle Inspection sheets, daily tickets and fuel receipts*Maintain safe/clean vehicle at all times
*Consistently deliver quality customer service to both internal and external personnel.
*Be on time for your shift and work you entire shift each day.
Skills/Qualifications:
*Be a minimum age of 23 years of age for towing or 21 for battery techs in order to meet insurance requirements.
*Valid driver's license.
*Must be able to pass and obtain a DOT Physical Card.
*Must pass a background check-No Felony Convictions within 7 Years.
*Safe backing skills into tight quarters damage free
*Ability to read necessary instructions to ensure comprehension and safety duties
*Basic mechanical understanding
*Safety management / time management
*Equipment maintenance -- truck fluid levels, tire pressure*Dependability, punctuality, and accountability a must
*Solid foundation of ethical standards; honest /integrity,
*High energy levels
*Desire to work hard, have fun, and be team oriented.
Physical Demands:
*Frequently: sit, reach with hands, climb or balance, stand and walk moderate to significant
*Grasp with hands and fingers and lift up to 100 pounds
*Frequently: bend, twist, push, pull, climb, squat, crawl, kneel, lie down, and drive; reach above shoulders
*Frequently: in and out of vehicle multiple times per day
*Ability to work efficiently in inclement weather

Light Service and Battery Installation Tech Requirements

Applicants must be able to pass a background check and have reliable transportation to get them to work. No exceptions to anything listed. This is not your average job, but a lifestyle. It's long hours in a variety of weather conditions, you'll get hot, dirty, cold, wet, and windblown. If you can't follow direction or be a team player than this will not work for you. Weekends and Holidays are REQUIRED. The upside, we have an up to date fleet, set schedule, incentive plans, a weekly paycheck, and consistent call volume.

Looking for a general mechanic for our fleet of tow trucks. I have a fully equipped shop in Overland Park and have a mixed fleet of tow trucks, all under 26,000 GVWR. Applicant must be skilled in all aspects of repairs and good at doing a little bit of everything that is mechanical.
Most of the tow bed related repairs listed below can be taught very easily, I understand most mechanics have not worked around tow beds and equipment, must have an open mind to learn these repairs.
Most of our engine and transmissions are covered up to 200K miles so most of it goes to the dealership for work. We do have some trucks not under warranty that require engine and transmission R and I, troubleshooting and repair at times. Must be computer literate and be able to complete repair orders and documents to upload in our software systems.

Brakes-Both air and juice brake systems.
Oil changes and fluid changes.
Electrical-Everything from repairing lights to replacing heater motors and window regulators.
A/C=Everything from replacing lines to troubleshooting cooling issues and finding tough leaks using dye.
Tire Repair and Replacement-We plug a lot of tires and also replace them. A lot of 19.5 Tires balanced with bead bags.
Welding-Must be able to weld up to 3/8 plate and be skilled in welding different angles and welding odd spots at different times.
Applicant must have valid drivers license and be able to pass company insurance requirements.
Front end work, control arms, hubs, bearing, ball joints etc.
Belts, tensioner's, engine hoses and hydraulic bed hoses.
PTO pumps usually engine driven.
Winch cable replacement.
Hydraulic cylinder and pin replacement. Also easily taught.
This is a 40 hour per week position but working OT is a must at times to ensure trucks are back up and operational.
