Yesterday we took a moment to celebrate the incredible achievements of 2024. It was truly a year of outstanding growth and development for Almighty Tow Service.

We are especially proud that Sean, our Battery Technician Supervisor, earned the Battery Technician of the Year Award from AAA for the second consecutive year! Chris and Kevin were also Technician of the Year nominees, which is a testament to their dedication.

Thanks to the hard work of these award winners and all the other hardworking men and women on our team, we were able to achieve the Service Provider of the Year for AAA and were a nominee for the Battery Service Provider of the Year Award!

None of this would be possible without the outstanding team of employees that make up Almighty Tow Service and the invaluable support of our AAA Liaison, Corey. Thank you all for your contributions to our success.

❄️IMPENDING WINTER STORM PREPARATION IN THE KANSAS CITY METRO AREA❄️

The Kansas Highway Patrol is preparing for the impending winter storm that will be affecting the Kansas City Metropolitan area. Due to the predicted winter weather, the Kansas Highway Patrol will be towing any abandoned vehicles from the shoulders of the interstates and highways.

The removal of abandoned vehicles will begin Monday, February 17th at 6 pm. Abandoned vehicles inhibit KDOT’s ability to completely clear the roadway of snow. Towing the vehicles will assist the KDOT in the snow removal process. Troopers and Motorist Assist Technicians will continue to remove vehicles from the roadways until KDOT has completed their snow removal process.

Motorists whose vehicles have been removed from the roadways can call *47 to speak with Kansas Highway Patrol Communications to determine where their vehicle was towed. The towing of vehicles will be at the owner’s expense.

ALL highways in northeast Kansas, including I-70 from the Missouri state line west to the Ellsworth County line in western Kansas, are closed.
Please read below -
ALL HIGHWAYS CLOSED IN NORTHEASTERN KANSAS
Low visibility, impassable conditions and extreme winter weather has caused highways to close in northeastern Kansas, including I-70 east to the Missouri state line, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation.
I-70 CLOSURE: I-70 is now closed in both directions from the Missouri state line in Kansas City west to the Ellsworth County line in western Kansas. Eastbound I-70 is also closed from Hays to the Missouri state line.
In addition, all highways are now closed in Marshall, Nemaha, Brown, Doniphan, Riley, Pottawatomie, Jackson, Atchison, Wabaunsee, Shawnee, Jefferson, Leavenworth, Lyon, Osage, Douglas, Wyandotte and Johnson counties.
These closures are in addition to the closures that took place in north central Kansas earlier this afternoon. Those include all highways in Washington, Clay, Geary, Dickinson, Morris, Marion, Chase, McPherson, Saline, Ellsworth, Lincoln, Ottawa, Mitchell, Republic, Cloud and Jewell counties.
Additional road closures are possible as the winter storm continues to move across the state.
Check KDOT’s updated traveler information website, www.kandrive.gov, for updates on highway conditions across Kansas. KDOT also advises motorists who must travel to have emergency kits on hand with clothes, blankets, food, water and other supplies.

Y’all, it’s best to just heed the warnings and stay home once the winter weather starts. If you must get out after the precipitation starts, give yourself extra time and extra space. Ice isn’t easily navigated by any kind of vehicle. Don’t forget to always clear your vehicle (the WHOLE thing) of snow and ice before driving!!

Due to the timing of the forecast, we are adjusting the time of removing abandoned vehicles from noon to 6 pm.

Starting tomorrow at noon, all vehicles will be towed if left abandoned on interstates and highways to assist KDOT in the snow removal process.
