Don’t forget Fall is on its way!! Unfortunately I don’t keep tires in stock, mainly due to lacking space to store them. I try to keep good relations with all the surrounding tire shops and suppliers. Some things may be able to be obtained same day, most tires I can have delivered next morning. Twice a day the truck will deliver tires. Tires are what your equipment and vehicles depend on!! Go kick your tires before you’re in the middle of the road or in a water way on the back 40. My first summer self employed I made many trips to my first customers house. It seemed like it was never ending. But all that fall, he didn’t have any tire troubles! Being prepared pays off!!!

Truck came in for a tire wear issue, and the blower fan inside has a vibration. Upon inspection, I found the ball joints have a slight amount of play. Checking the brakes and said woooooaaaaah, where’d that go?!? Surprisingly, nothing had happened yet. But I’ve had so many vehicles come in missing the bracket, or the caliper bolts. It can just make a noise, or rotate into the rim, and can lock up the entire wheel. Think about that doing 60-75mph. Make sure you get your stuff tight!!! This is why I keep almost every single bolt I can, a quick easy fix to make the vehicle safer than when it rolled in!

Feeding off the last post. Car came in for a surging issue, I scanned codes and found only one for an under boost condition. Went through all the tests, looking for leaks, sensors reading improperly. I finally singled everything out, except the turbo… Replaced turbo, and cleaned engine bay, like I do with almost every car that gets a major repair. I made it one block from the shop and it went into freak out mode. Misfiring on cylinder 4. Pulled back in, removed the coil pack, and the rest is in the pictures!! (Look at the coil boot that the fins are flattened on) IT HAD NO CODES FOR A MISFIRE PRIOR. That’s frustrating!!! But it’s the reality of mechanics. Some jobs are just done, some uncover other hidden issues… I wish I had a crystal ball that could predict these things!!

Here’s your reminder, if you haven’t, check your air filter! Or schedule a service and I will check over your car for you! Drop offs are heavily preferred. Check engine lights, driving issues, suspension noises, you name it!

Recirculating door on a 3rd Generation Dodge Ram. The plastic shaft had stripped out. In the summer months as many know, it’s best to run your a/c on Recirculation. But if the door doesn’t work, the a/c doesn’t work very well 🙃 and of COURSE you have to pull the dash back to access the actuator… but all in all, easy job! I had scheduled work off for next week in order to have some time to clean up, and organize the shop, much needed!!
