Today we’re feeling especially lucky to be part of such an incredible community that supports Winnebagoland BMX. Because of riders, volunteers, supporters, and everyone who comes out to the track, we’re able to continue growing the sport of BMX and providing a place where anyone can ride, learn, and be part of something special.

If you know someone who enjoys riding but isn’t sure where to start with BMX racing, this is the perfect opportunity. At Winnebagoland BMX we believe “Nobody Rides the Bench,” and our BMX Racing League is designed to help new riders learn the sport while building the skills and confidence needed to get started. League riders will be learning and riding alongside other beginners, making it a great and welcoming way to try BMX racing.

For the second year in a row, we’re excited to offer two BMX Racing League sessions this season led by licensed coach Aiden Brewer.

Both leagues are the exact same beginner program, just offered on two different sets of dates so you can choose the schedule that works best.

To get started, we’re hosting two FREE Beginner Open Houses, each connected to its league session.

📅 Open House #1 – May 9 | 9:00–10:30 AM
📅 Open House #2 – May 30 | 2:30–4:30 PM

At the Open House you’ll be able to:
• Meet the coach
• Learn how the BMX Racing League works
• Ask questions about the program
• Ride the track (weather permitting)

The Open House will begin at the scheduled start time, so please plan on arriving at the start time or a little before.

The league includes the Open House plus two instructional sessions where riders learn the fundamentals and skills needed to start BMX racing.

✔ No experience needed
✔ Ages 3+ welcome
✔ Loaner bikes and helmets available at no extra cost

Tomorrow, February 6th, we honor Oliver Ball-Reed. In his memory, please wear your BMX jersey and/or a flannel to show love and support.

Our hearts are heavy as we learn of the sudden loss of a rider from the BMX community.
We are holding the rider’s family, friends, and everyone at Steel Wheels BMX close in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Mason Biesterveld and his family traveled to Cape Coral, Florida, for the Sunshine State Nationals this past weekend. And Mason showed up in a big way—bringing home some serious hardware!

On Friday, Mason took 3rd place. On Saturday, he followed that up with a strong 4th place finish. He capped off the weekend on Sunday by earning 4th place in Cruiser and an impressive 1st place in Class.

Please take a moment to congratulate Mason on his outstanding accomplishments and a great weekend of racing!

Mason Biesterveld and family took a trip down to Florida for the Sunshine State Nationals. Mason took a podium spot today, placing 3rd. Good luck on Day 2 tomorrow.
