A letter from Trevor Fischer to our community, friends, and family regarding the two-year mark of his beloved wife Deb Fischer’s passing:
When someone you love deeply, someone you have spent most of your life with, is suddenly snatched away from you, it is really, really hard. Until it has happened to you, you have no way of knowing how hard it is.
On October 20, it will mark two years since Debbie’s passing. I still go to the cemetery every day. Some days I talk to her, some days I just sit there, some days I cry, and some days I don’t, but before I leave I always thank God for giving me that beautiful lady.
After Debbie’s death, I received many, many sympathy cards from a lot of caring people. There was one special card, and I keep it on my desk and read it quite often. It reads: “You two were everywhere together and the rest of us can only pray for a love that is true.” It also reads: “Memories, family, friends, and the word of God will help you through this heartache.”
Debbie helped in creating a lot of great memories, and with a little help from me, she raised one great family, and over the years we made a lot of great friends.
Without God’s help and everyone around me, I don’t think I could have handled her passing very well. I cannot thank everyone enough for all the kindness you have shown me. The friendly smiles, the great waves, hugs and handshakes, and especially for people taking time out of their busy schedules just to talk to me. A special thanks to my morning coffee group; you have been a great help.
It is great living in a small town like Ord, the town Debbie was born and raised in, the town we chose to raise our children in.
Thank you, everyone!
