Brian has been in the hospital since Saturday evening. Tomorrow, Brian’s mom will be trained in how to use a pic line for at home antibiotics and sent home. Praise! It’s been a long week. Another praise is that paperwork is finally being pushed through for Brian to receive PT and OT at Davis. That has been a long struggle. Also, Brian’s power wheelchair was finally approved and his shower wheelchair. We are in the process of transferring to a different urologist which is a good thing and trying to get into Davis for a primary.

This is a tea fundraiser to help pay for the building of Brian’s bedroom and bathroom. People asked how they can help, here is a great way and it’s fun.

Brian update
Thurs, we took Brian into urgent care for UTI- they put him on Bactrum. Saturday, we took Brian into the hospital for spiking a 100.3 fever. They admitted Brian. Blood culture showed septis. Sunday, Brian had a A.D. episode (if you want more info. Look into A.D. SCI). The nurse called the doc who prescribed a blood pressure lowering medication. Thankfully, Chet was there to intervene, stop the medication dosage, and found the cause for A.D.. I talked to the doctor this morning who humbly apologized and agreed to screen all medication and treatments through us (mom and dad) before administering. Also, the doctor thinks that the blood draw was contaminated- retesting, and may not in fact be in septis. Also, got results back today that showed his infection is bactrum resistant. No problem, he is on a different drug at the hospital. Summery? It’s hard to have Brian in the hospital, but at least the staff is listening and giving him the best care possible. He may not be as sick as we feared and will be home soon. We are still fighting urology at UC Davis to get Brian the care he needs. This mama may not have won that battle yet, but I will. We are still trying to get Brian into PT and OT. But that’s a different fight

Update on Brian
Praise - we have a in home nurse Monday - Friday 7-3! Prayer, another UTI. Pray we can handle this with at home care.

The completion of the county house plans marked a significant achievement for our family today. Moreover, Brian demonstrated remarkable perseverance when he opened and exited the front door without any assistance, which served as a testament to his strength and resilience. His triumphant use of the push-button disabled-friendly door further underscored the significance of this memorable day.

I apologize for not keeping everyone up to date on Brian's status. The past few days have been chaotic, to say the least, but we are happy to report that Brian is doing well after being released from UD Davis Hospital and is resting comfortably at home.

Brian’s stable but not doing great. He will not be released from the hospital until more answers are found, a better after Care, and support is in place
