Really clean 68 Camaro headed home this week. We fixed leaks, fixed a broken seat adjuster cable, a drivers window, replaced engine and transmission mounts and subframe bushings. We also took care of a coolant leak, made some carb adjustments, added a radio and speakers and installed under dash gauges to see what’s really going on with the engine.

Really clean 55 Chevy Truck heading home with a new radiator, shroud and brushless cooling fan. We also replaced the water pump, a leaking fuel pump, fixed a leaking carburetor, rear end seal and a leaking power steering rack. Seems everything was leaking. The lower control arms received new bushings. Back on the road and ready to cruise again. By the way, this truck really drives nice. Not many home builds are this nice. Probably a 15 year old build with the help of and back then.

Update on the 61 Vette. We rebuilt the carburetors, cleaned up the manifold, replaced the rear leaf springs and bushings. Welding in a new battery tray, fixed a cracked rear strut rod mount and a few other things. My biggest complaint is any company that sells Corvette parts hardly has anything in stock. Seat foam, no seat covers, heater parts, not heater box, leafs springs, no shock plates and the list goes on and on. Seems like only one or two manufacturers make Corvette parts and the half dozen companies that sell them are on back order. Hard to build and fix cars when you can’t get parts.

We are thankful to be busy and have great customers that trust us with their vehicles. This 68 Camaro has been in our customer’s family since it was new. It’s now time for a big upgrade. We will be doing an LS swap with engine internals from and a beefed up 4l60E from Lake Elsinore Transmission, exhaust, and parts. Front suspension will be coilovers and control arms with brakes. Of course we will be using .innovations electric brake booster to make this thing really stop. The rear will include 9” conversion and Wilwood disc brakes. The interior will receive gauges, wiring, air conditioning, power windows and an column. There will be more stuff added and when we’re done, it will be headed to for paint!

Orange and yellow 54 F100 is leaving with a few new upgrades. Starting with a much needed brake improvement. We removed the floor mounted vacuum brake booster/master combo and relocated it to the firewall. This pedal setup makes it more comfortable to drive much like a newer car. Along the lines of a newer feel, we added a .innovations electric brake booster. You want your hot rod to stop? This unit is what you need. Just a three wire hook up. No hoses to make like a hydro boost or pulling vacuum from the engine like a conventional booster. Next we installed a set of gauges to give the dash a more updated feel. We also re-wired the whole truck using a fuse panel and wiring kit. When the truck was here, it did need some repairs so we replaced rear four bar bushing, front control arm bushings, new brake pads, and fluids changed. It still needs more loving so it will be back but for now, keep cruising!

The Classic Instruments gauges on left have been in this 54 F100 for 25 years. It was time to upgrade to the retro style gauge cluster. What a difference the new cluster looks inside. We are just about done with a few upgrades on the Ford and then it’s back on the road.

Wrapping up our streak of red vehicles in the shop. This 56 F100 is heading on home. Came in for a few things and ended up needed more work done to make it safe. We did a complete rewire, changed out the carburetor so the 460 big block would run better, new motor mounts and also fixed a leaking rear third member.
