☕🏍️ Bikes & Coffee at Fulton Moto! 🏍️☕

A few of us ventured out to Fulton Moto in Culpeper today for their Bikes & Coffee meetup, and of course we took the long way to enjoy the ride. 😎

This event never disappoints — bikes of all makes and models come together for good coffee and even better company. We ran into several friends out there, including a couple very familiar faces from Stonewall HD!

Always a good time at Fulton Moto. If you’ve never been, add it to the list! ☕

🏍️✨ Ladies Bike Night and Show – What a Night! ✨🏍️

Huge thank you to all the Stonewall HOG Chapter members who volunteered at Ladies Bike Night and Show! (Didn’t capture all of the volunteers before they left) You guys ROCK, and this event doesn’t happen without you and the amazing staff at Stonewall HD. 🙌

And I have to brag just a little… yours truly took home the win in the trike class! 🏆😄

But the real win of the night was the cause behind it all — the money raised goes to help support Hillary’s children and their future. It was such a great night of bikes, community, and giving back.

Thank you to everyone who came out, donated, and made this night special. So proud to be part of this chapter! 💛

🏍️ Ride Recap: Route 11 Potato Chip Factory! 🥔

A couple weeks back, a group of us rolled out to the Route 11 Potato Chip Factory for a fun little day trip! Unfortunately they weren’t actually making chips the day we visited, but we still got to see where all the magic happens and sample a bunch of their flavors — always a win in my book.

From there we headed over to Southern Kitchen for lunch, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. A few of us couldn’t resist stretching the day out a little longer with a stop at Buc-ee’s on the way home (because when is a Buc-ee’s stop ever a bad idea?).

Great roads, great food, great company — just another perfect day to be out on motorcycles with this crew. 🛣️☀️

Can’t wait for the next one!

What a great day for a ride! Today 10 members and 1 guest gathered at the Frost Cafe in Culpeper for breakfast. Afterwards we saddled up and headed out to the Thornton Gap entrance to the Skyline Drive and rode south to Swift Run Gap. In between we had terrific weather, fantastic views looking out and down from the mountain and great conversation. At the conclusion of the ride we headed down to make a stop at Stonewall Harley-Davidson. We attempted this ride twice last year and was rained out both times. Well, the third time was the charm. Ride Safe!

This post should have been done yesterday or Saturday night after our wonderful trip to Bill’s Old Bike Barn near Bloomsburg PA. HOG members Sam Bryan and Larry (8-Ball) Goldstein departed Stonewall H-D on Friday at 11:00 on their way to Bloomsburg. The original trip was planned for Friday to Sunday but, with major storms forecast in the area for Sunday, we chose to make it a two-day trip. As it was, we encountered light rain for about 1.5 hours on Friday afternoon but we had geared up for it so it wasn't a big deal.

After checking in at the hotel, we had a nice dinner at West End Ale Haus in Bloomsburg and then, continuing a longstanding tradition, returned to the hotel for drinks and a cigar. Once Sam finished his cigar we headed to our rooms so we’d be ready for breakfast in the morning.

After checking out, we headed to Brewski’s Coffee and Bar for a light breakfast. Brewski’s name is a play on the fact that it’s both a coffee shop and a bar featuring many beers. We both commented that it would have been a good choice for dinner the night before as their menu included an extensive selection of burgers and sandwiches.

Following the coffee, we headed to the Bike Barn where we were overwhelmed by Bill’s collection. We saw dozens of motorcycles with an emphasis on classic Harleys along with other brands including Indian, Honda, Yamaha, Triumph, Vincent, and many more. But it’s much more than motorcycles. Bill has created a town—Billville—with various establishments including a bistro, dentist’s office, barber shop, beauty salon, machine shop, fire house, and on and on. One of the most unique vehicles we saw was a beautiful Rolls Royce pickup truck—one of only seven ever made.

We spent a couple hours exploring before deciding it was time to get on the road back to Virginia. Before doing so, however, we spent a little time chatting with Bill as he is one of two hosts in residence. We agreed that we would enjoy visiting again to try to see even more of his collections, which are vast. The ride home was in perfect weather and we stuck together to Front Royal where Sam headed south on US 522 while 8-Ball stuck with US 340 south.

Five members—including two JDs, two Johns, one Chef, and one 8-Ball—braved the heat to ride the Blue Ridge Parkway to have lunch at the Lake View Restaurant at Peaks of Otter Lodge.

Between us, we sampled nearly every section of the menu with the following selections: Buffalo Chicken Ranch sandwich, Classic Reuben, Shrimp & Grits, Pan-seared Trout, and a Caesar Salad with grilled chicken. Various beverages were consumed with emphasis on cold ones to recover from the heat.

We enjoyed our time chatting and it was surprising to learn that only 8-Ball had visited the Lodge before. When it was time to wrap things up and head for home, the group split up with a John leading the group of four heading toward Charlottesville while 8-Ball took off for I-81 North.

Everything came together nicely for a good day of riding. Despite the heat, the weather was better than tolerable, traffic was never a problem, the food was good, and the conversation capped off a great chapter event!

Ps. The odometer shot--129,999--is from 8-Ball's 2014 Heritage Softail Classic. The fact that the drivetrain is original, and no component has been opened for any reason, is a testament to the Twin Cam's quality. The photo stop occurred just one mile short of the 130,000 he rolled as soon as the ride resumed.
