: Jeff Wade
Some careers are measured in years. Jeff Wade’s is measured in generations of customers.
Jeff joined Crown Toyota in Ontario, California, as a service porter in September 1988. Thirty-eight years later, he’s still there, now as an Assistant Service Manager in the Service department at Swickard Crown Toyota. Along the way, he’s been detail manager, internal service writer for the new car department, service advisor, and service assistant manager. When Swickard took ownership of the store, Jeff came along with it, and he’s been part of the Swickard family ever since.
His work has earned him a spot among Toyota’s top 25 ASMs in the Los Angeles region, and he’s been recognized twice in Toyota’s Kabuto Challenge.
Even after nearly four decades, Jeff says no two days are the same. “You never know what the day will bring.”
What keeps him here is simple: the people. He’s served some customers so long that their children now come to him for service. One moment still stands out: telling a guest that their major engine repair was covered and watching them break down in tears of joy. “I did nothing out of the normal,” he says, “but that one just kind of stood out.”
Jeff credits the managers who mentored him over the years, including today’s service team. They’ve helped him move from old-school ways to new processes in a business that never stops changing.
Born and raised in Southern California, Jeff grew up in Chino and now lives in North Rialto. Family comes first. He and his wife just bought another RV and can’t wait to get back to camping with their two rescue dogs. Weekends often mean barbecues with friends.
His advice? “Stick with it.” Push through the harder days, and you’ll build a career.
