Cold hands don’t fix trucks.

On cold Omaha commutes and job sites, diesel trucks can take longer to reach operating temperature. A weak heater, lukewarm air, slow defroster, or foggy windshield isn’t just uncomfortable. It can become a visibility and safety issue.

The cause may be low coolant, poor coolant flow, air in the cooling system, a stuck-open thermostat, a restricted or leaking heater core, failed blend-door actuator, clogged cabin air filter, blower motor or resistor fault, HVAC control issue, refrigerant loss, compressor or condenser problem, or a leak.

Heat is what kills truck transmissions.

If your truck tows trailers, hauls equipment, or runs loaded every day, the automatic transmission is doing constant heavy work. Nobody is holding a grudge like a 6-year-old wiper blade. 😤

That smear in the middle of your windshield isn't "definitely going to clear up," and squinting through it in the rain at 6 AM isn't the personality trait you think it is.

Your blades quit on you in stages. First it's one little streak. Then it's a full watercolor painting of the headlights coming at you. Then it's that awful squeak that tells everyone in the parking lot you have given up on life. 👻

Water and bad fuel don’t just cost you a fuel filter. They can take out the entire high-pressure fuel system. 💧

Modern common-rail diesels run their high-pressure pumps, rails, and injectors on extremely tight tolerances. Water in fuel, low lubricity, particulate contamination, or bad fuel can damage a CP4-style pump. When that pump fails internally, the metal debris it sheds travels downstream: contaminating the rail, injectors, lines, and the rest of the system.

That’s how one failed component becomes a multi-thousand-dollar fuel-system replacement.

Don’t ignore:
• Hard starting or extended cranking
• Rough idle or hesitation under load
• Loss of power
• Fuel-pressure codes
• Fuel in the oil
• Metal in the fuel filter
