Another PA D.A.R.E. plate but definitely in worse condition. It took some time to bring this one back to life. But damn, fixing the 05N was testing my patience. I would like to call the person that rear ended this plate. lol 😂
I think it turned out super nice.

D.A.R.E Pennsylvania Plate:
We have done a couple of these plates now. Some people say they are getting pretty rare. Not sure? I guess it relates to the low numbers? The reflective white lettering is always a little tricky. I feel we get better and better every time we do one. Always trying to keep the sword 🗡️ sharp.

1915 Colorado Dealer Porcelain License Plate
A True Before & After Revival

The Starting Point: Nearly Lost to Time:

The images tell the story immediately. This 1915 Colorado Dealer porcelain plate arrived in extremely rough condition covered in heavy rust, deep corrosion, and widespread failure of the original porcelain coating with missing pieces.

The once-bold yellow background was barely visible, and the black numbers and lettering were fading into the damage. In spots, the steel underneath had begun to take over completely. For most, this would be considered beyond repair.

The Transformation: Night and Day:

The final result is nothing short of dramatic. What was once a heavily deteriorated, nearly unreadable artifact is now a museum-quality plate:

Bright, rich yellow background restored
Sharp, bold black lettering
Smooth, porcelain resin finish
A piece that looks just as it would have in 1915

Why This Restoration Matters:

This plate is more than metal, it’s a snapshot of early automotive history. Dealer plates like this played a key role during a time when cars were just becoming part of everyday life.

Restoring it preserves that story for future generations, whether it ends up:
On a vintage vehicle
In a private collection
Displayed as historic automotive art

Final Word:

Not every shop can take something this far gone and bring it back to life but that’s exactly what RESTORE A TAG specializes in.

From severe corrosion to showroom perfection, this is what true restoration looks like.

Every plate has a story.
This one just got its second chance.

From barely visible… to bold and factory-fresh.
This New York 1928 plate came in heavily rusted, faded, and nearly lost to time — but the history was still there. We carefully stripped corrosion, preserved the original character, and brought the embossed details back to life with the correct finish and colors.

The result? A museum-quality restoration that looks exactly like it should.

Here’s a killer, scroll-stopping Before/After picture for this one 👇
Take a second and really look at this…

These 1931 Wisconsin plates came in completely shot —
🟤 Heavy rust
🟤 Faded, barely visible lettering
🟤 On the edge of being lost forever

🔥 THIS is what RESTORE A TAG does. 🔥

We stripped it down, rebuilt the surface, and brought every detail back to life —
➡️ Deep, rich blue finish
➡️ Crisp, bold yellow lettering
➡️ Period-correct look like it just rolled out of 1931

This isn’t just restoration…
👉 This is preserving history with precision.

1937 New York plates—brought ALL the way back.
Correct color.
Crisp, straight lettering.
Factory look like it just rolled out 80+ years ago.

This isn’t a repaint.
This is precision restoration.

The kind where every number matters.
Every edge matters.
Every detail gets respected.

That’s what we do at RESTORE A TAG.

From junk… to history reborn. 🔥

🚨 THIS is why details matter. 🚨

This 1941 Florida plate came to us after another restoration company already had their shot… and missed.

Look closely:
❌ Thick, uneven paint
❌ Poor edge definition
❌ No respect for the original character

Now to the finished result… 👇

✅ Crisp, factory-correct lines
✅ Proper color balance
✅ Clean, period-accurate finish
✅ DONE RIGHT the first time (or fixed when it wasn’t)

At RESTORE A TAG, we don’t just “make it look better”…
We bring it back to what it was meant to be.

💬 If your plate has already been “restored” but doesn’t look right… we fix those too.

🔥 CUSTOM BUILT. TIG WELDED. TWO PLATES TO MAKE ONE. 🔥

Not your average license plate restoration… this one had to be hand-fabricated and TIG welded together to match an old family registration.

Every seam carefully welded.
Every line rebuilt.
Every detail brought back the right way.

A lot of shops would not tackle this project— but that’s exactly the kind of challenge we love.

This is what happens when craftsmanship meets patience.

✅ Precision TIG welding
✅ Hand restoration
✅ Period-correct finish

🔥 From forgotten… to flawless. 🔥 after another company had already attempted to restore it years ago.

This original “Slow Down and Live in Delaware” plate came in rough — peeling paint, rust spots, and years of wear. Most people would have called it done.

But history deserves better.

After a full restoration, the plate is brought back to the way it was meant to be seen — crisp lettering, deep color, and that classic vintage look again.

That’s what we do at Restore A Tag — bringing pieces of automotive history back to life.

Which version surprised you more… the condition it came in, or the way it left? 👀
