Our captains, several wrestlers, and a few amazing supporters started their day at 5:00 this morning with a positivity walk through downtown Ocean Springs in recognition of Su***de Prevention Month.

They walked more than 15 miles, not just to bring awareness to a cause that affects so many people around the world and right here in our own community, but to spread a simple message: you matter, you are loved, and you are never alone.

Throughout the morning, I watched these incredible kids bring smiles to people’s faces with nothing more than a kind word, a little encouragement, and a reminder that someone cares. What they did today may seem simple, but sometimes a simple act of kindness can mean more than we will ever know.

These are some truly special kids. They want everyone to know that it’s okay to talk, it’s okay to ask for help, and you should never be too scared or too proud to reach out to someone you trust.

Take this month as a reminder to check on someone. Tell someone they matter. Tell someone they are loved. Be the reason someone feels seen today.

Together, we can help change the statistics and, more importantly, help change lives. 💙
