‼️☣️Did you know that rodents are considered a biohazard? ☣️‼️
Mice urine and f***s can spread salmonella, rats are considered a biohazard due to the diseases they can carry and transmit to humans and pets through their urine, f***s and bites. Rat waste is a biohazard because it can contain pathogens that cause illnesses like leptospirosis, hantavirus, and salmonellosis. With winter upon us, they are moving in. They love warmth from the engine of your vehicle and any food left behind inside your vehicles. They nest any and everywhere that provides them the tools they need to survive.
Some ways to prevent this!!
To deter rodents in vehicles, use deterrent scents like peppermint oil, cayenne pepper, or dryer sheets, and physically block entry points with steel wool or rodent-deterrent tape. Keeping the vehicle clean and dry also helps, as moisture and clutter are attractive to rodents. For a high-tech solution, install an ultrasonic repeller device.
Use deterrent scents
Peppermint oil: Soak cotton balls in peppermint oil and place them in engine bays, under seats, or in the trunk. Alternatively, mix with water in a spray bottle and apply to various areas, avoiding the mass air flow sensor.
Cayenne pepper: Sprinkle cayenne pepper around the vehicle or create a homemade spray to apply around vulnerable areas, like wiring harnesses.
Dryer sheets: Place dryer sheets (especially fabric softener-scented ones) throughout the vehicle's interior. They are often disliked by rodents, and the smell can be pleasant for humans.
Other scents: Cedar and clove essential oils are also effective deterrents.
If you find yourself struggling with a infestation of rodents, please take caution while cleaning it out. I'm no stranger to this. I just left the body shop for the 2nd recon of a rodent issue. Insurance company's are also starting to cover such devastation as well.
