Well, we made it back to the scene of the crime… and gosh darn it, nobody bought this thing yet. 😂 But somebody did put a “For Sale” sign on it!

It was a long day and a really good week… until it wasn’t.

I’m happy with how we ran this week and, finally, we’ve got a good handle on the S10. It was on another 5-second run yesterday until it wasn’t. The numbers were really good early, and the 330’ was just as good as Monday, so that part makes me happy.

Unfortunately, we broke a rod - some sort of parts failure. Everything was good this morning. We changed the oil, checked the filter, and everything looked perfect. Oil pressure was good, and mechanically everything seemed fine, so I’m not sure yet if it was a rod, bolt, or something else. We’ll get it apart and see what actually happened.

Having something break and going in the trailer is a first for me on a drag-and-drive event, so I’ll take that with a grain of salt. We ran well, we learned a lot, and we made some really good progress with this thing.

We’re heading home early, so good luck to everybody still out there racing.

We’ll get the S10 loaded up, get it apart, get it fixed, and address a couple other little things while we’re at it.

But we’ll be back out later this fall. We’ll see if we can reset the street-legal record, and then figure out what the next move is from there.

Mother Nature had other plans today. Day 2 at Byron Dragway has officially been rained out, so the guys are making their way to Cordova Dragway for Day 3.

Larry and the S10 just put a 5-second pass on the board at 244 MPH on Day 1 of Hot Rod Drag Week.

After a 6.040 @ 238 MPH on the first pass, Larry stepped it up for pass #2. This is what he came to Drag Week to do!
