🐾 MOLLY IS HOME! 🐾
Amazing news! Molly, the lost dog in Westport, has been safely trapped and is finally back home! ❤️
Poor Molly had been lost in an area she was completely unfamiliar with. On the second day, our DGR volunteer Jill went out and set up a trap.
DGR volunteer Melanie advised Molly’s owners to keep things quiet, and avoid walking through the woods. The goal was to make the area as calm as possible so Molly would feel safe enough to approach the trap.
Meanwhile, Jill stayed in her car in the parking lot, patiently watching and waiting. And then came the raccoons! 🦝😂 One after another, Jill watched raccoon after raccoon come out.
Every time Jill released one, Molly would appear at the trap just minutes later! Unfortunately, she kept getting spooked by activity from the nearby restaurant and would run right back into the woods.
But Jill never gave up.
After the last raccoon was released, Jill rebaited the trap. Two seconds later… THERE WAS MOLLY! 🥳🐶
And into the trap she went!
TRAPPED. SAFE. HOME! ❤️🏡🐾
What an incredible example of patience, timing, teamwork, and knowing how a lost dog thinks. Huge congratulations to Jill and all of the DGR volunteers who helped get Molly home. Another lost dog safely back where she belongs! 🙌🐾

This cutie went missing from Post Rd E near Shake Shack in Westport. Please do not call out or chase; just call the number on the flyer with any sightings. She is wearing a collar with an AirTag.
