A clogged fuel filter can cause several problems due to fuel starvation. Some of these problems are misfires or rough idle, engine stalling, and start-up problems. A clogged fuel filter can also make your fuel pump overload and damage trying to pump the fuel through the stuck fuel filter. Replacing your fuel filter every 30,000 miles or every three engine oil changes is a good way to ensure that you are running your vehicle with a fully functional fuel filter.

Chain-driven engines usually donโ€™t have a fixed timing chain replacement interval. However, you should check your vehicle maintenance manual to see when you should replace it. If you canโ€™t find it there, ask your mechanic when you should replace it. Timing chains donโ€™t snap like drive chains, but if they lose, the consequences for your engine can be equally bad.
