Remembering 9/11
I love the support and tributes our NMB community gives when remembering the tragedy of 9/11. These 3 photos were from 3 different areas in my short 8 minute ride to work today. Every time I think about this day, Alan Jackson's song "Where were you when the world stopped turning" immediately comes to mind. It just so perfectly captured the many emotions those of us that were around when that happened. I was working for a technology company in Winston Salem NC as a sales manager and my team actually covered the NYC territory. The fear and confusion grew with each announcement of the next crash as we gathered around small TVs and watched the coverage. I remember calling customers in that area to see if they were ok but the phone lines wouldn't work. I remember specifically when the second plane hit because it made the entire situation feel so different. I remember the hours, days, weeks that followed the last crash wondering what was going to happen next. My prayers go to all of the victims and those impacted by this day. May those of us that experienced this and educate younger folks that weren't in this world yet.
