An Important Update from Tommy’s Auto Repair
Effective November 1, our hourly labor rate will be increasing to $140 per hour.
This was not a decision I made lightly, and I want to be transparent with my customers about why this adjustment has become necessary.
As a small business owner, I face rising operating expenses year after year, including rent increases that have not been matched by an increase in my earnings. In addition to rent, I am responsible for paying a portion of the property’s water, gas, and electricity bills.
My shop operates Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, while the gas station sharing the property operates seven days a week, from 5 AM to 11 PM. Despite these significant differences in operating hours, I still have to cover a portion of the shared utility expenses. These ongoing costs have a substantial impact on my business and make it increasingly difficult to keep up with rising expenses while maintaining my current labor rate.
I have raised my concerns with my landlord regarding these differences and the financial burden they place on my business. Unfortunately, my concerns have not resulted in a resolution, leaving me to continue managing these increasing costs.
I take great pride in my work and in providing my customers with honest, dependable auto repair services. However, in order to keep my business operating and continue providing the quality of service my customers expect, this rate adjustment has become necessary.
I understand that price increases affect everyone, and I do not take this decision lightly. I sincerely appreciate every customer who has supported Tommy’s Auto Repair and trusted me with their vehicles. Your continued business means more than you know, and I am grateful for your understanding and support.
Thank you for continuing to support Tommy’s Auto Repair.
