Client stated takes over 20 minutes to pump a little bit of fuel.
-Gas pump clicks off trying to refill
-Smell raw gas near rear of vehicle
-Engine light for EVAP codes.
We found the charcoal canister deteriorated causing the internal pellets break apart and spill into the surrounding hoses which stop the vehicle from venting properly during fueling.
We replaced the charcoal canister, blew out the lines but it was severely clogged that we needed to drop tank and tap on lines to work the pellets out.
** When filling your fuel, want to avoid overfilling you know when the pump kicks back and fuel stops then you squeeze the nozzle to top it off a few more times.....
Well, that forces liquid gasoline into the EVAP system which saturated the active charcoal and destroys its internal structure.
