A Tesla power seat that won't sit upright sounds like it could need a new motor. But that's not always the answer!

Our sister shop, Leon's PROFIX Auto Repair on North Porter Avenue, recently worked on a 2017 Tesla Model S 90D with exactly that concern.

The driver's seat would recline backward but stop before returning upright. After reproducing the problem and testing the controls, the technician used Tesla Service Mode to recalibrate both front seats.

The result? Normal seat operation restored without replacing any parts.

It's a great example of how modern vehicle repairs sometimes involve electronic calibration rather than new hardware.

🚗 Sometimes one problem turns out to be several!

Ever had a vehicle problem that just wouldn't go away, even after repairs?

Our team at Leon's PROFIX Auto Repair East on N. Porter Avenue recently worked through an interesting brake problem on a 2015 Chrysler Town & Country.

The brake pedal was soft and fading, but repeated bleeding procedures weren't correcting the concern.

After extensive testing, our technicians identified a master cylinder issue, a bent adjustment rod, and an electrical connection problem affecting the brake booster vacuum pressure sensor.

Different problems, different symptoms, and a great reminder of why proper diagnosis matters.

A 2010 Toyota Prius came to PROFIX Auto Repair in Norman, Oklahoma with hybrid-system warning lights and a stored P0A80 fault. Rather than immediately replacing the entire high-voltage battery, we diagnosed and opened the existing battery assembly, found extensive corrosion in its electrical connections and sensing system, and repaired the original battery.

Training employees is something I enjoy. I don’t know if I’m any good at it but I do like seeing the “light bulb” come on when training. The consumer may not know, but it takes daily studying to keep on the bleeding edge of auto repair. A technician is an electrician, plumber, air conditioning specialists, mechanic, computer specialists including networking, etc. Modern cars have it all. We have the best employees and technicians! They are smart, trustworthy, and just great people. Here is a video of some training going on.
