Sometimes fixing a problem doesn't require replacing a single part!

A 2017 Tesla Model S 90D came into our Leon's PROFIX location on North Porter Avenue with an unusual problem: the driver's power seat would recline backward, but it wouldn't return to a proper upright position.

Our technician reproduced the issue, checked the seat controls, and discovered that the seat controller was stopping the tilt motor before the seat reached its intended position.

Using Tesla Service Mode, we performed calibration routines on both front seats. Afterward, testing confirmed normal seat operation.

No replacement motor. No new seat assembly. Just proper diagnosis, calibration, and verification.

🔧 When a brake pedal just won't firm up...

This 2015 Chrysler Town & Country came into our Leon's PROFIX Auto Repair East location on N. Porter Avenue in Norman with a frustrating problem: a soft, fading brake pedal that previous repair efforts hadn't resolved.

And as our technicians discovered, there wasn't just one problem!

Despite multiple brake bleeding procedures, the pedal still didn't feel right. Further investigation uncovered a master cylinder problem, a bent adjustment rod, and an intermittent electrical connection involving the brake booster vacuum pressure sensor.

A 2010 Toyota Prius came to PROFIX Auto Repair in Norman, Oklahoma with hybrid-system warning lights and a stored P0A80 fault. Rather than immediately replacing the entire high-voltage battery, we diagnosed and opened the existing battery assembly, found extensive corrosion in its electrical connections and sensing system, and repaired the original battery.

It’s very unusual when a modern vehicle leaks exhaust fumes into the interior area. We are able to electronically monitor carbon monoxide levels and show that the vehicle is safe. 

The graph below Shows carbon monoxide levels, temperature, and speed. The one blue spike up to 20 ppm was a calibration of the device. The red line shows test drives and vehicle speed.

This is great news for Tesla owners.

Tesla has quietly added a remanufactured long-range battery pack for the Model 3 and Model Y, priced at $8,000. That’s a big drop from the roughly $14,500 cost of a brand-new unit, offering owners facing a replacement about 45% in savings. What makes it notable is that these figures sit in Tesla's public Electronic Parts Catalog, openly accessible rather than buried behind a dealer quote, which is not how most automakers handle major component pricing. For context, that $8,000 figure is competitive with what a new engine swap costs at many OEM dealerships, which reframes a number that sounds alarming into something closer to routine major repair territory. The bigger point is how rarely it comes up at all. A TeslaTracker analysis of 30,957 used Tesla listings found just 53 vehicles, about 0.17%, had lost more than 25% of their original range, and the average used Tesla still retains 90.2% of its rated capacity. In other words, this is a worst-case cost that the overwhelming majority of owners will never encounter, and knowing the ceiling makes the used market considerably less intimidating.
