In the following days, you will see our officers with badges covered by a mourning band. It is a symbol of remembrance and respect. The band was adopted from Victorian mourning customs and the placement over the badge symbolizes grief and respect for those who died in the line of duty. It is a quiet promise to never forget the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice. Please continue to pray for Beech Grove PD and Officer Elliott’s family and friends.

The NPD’s thoughts and prayers are with the two Beech Grove police officers shot tonight in the line of duty. Our hearts are with the injured officers, their families, and the entire Beech Grove Police Department.
