Here is some good information about RV air conditioners. Often times customers think that their AC units are not working correctly, when they are actually just not near as efficient as residential AC units. If you are having issues with your AC unit you can consult this guide or give us a call and we can get your RV in and have it tested to see if needs replaced or just needs some repairs.

RV AC running but not cooling? Learn what's normal, how to troubleshoot airflow, frozen coils, low voltage, and when it's time to replace your RV air conditioner.

What’s in the shop today?

Again, we have a pretty wide variety being completed in the shop today. As you might expect, several of the jobs are related to the recent storms that dropped large hail in the area earlier this month.

1. This Merhow horse trailer had a run in with a concrete base for a pole, which did both structural and cosmetic damage to the trailer. We have repaired the structure and we are awaiting the replacement parts from the manufacturer, which should be here any day now, so we can finish up these repairs.
2. Our customer’s KZ Venom was in need of a new roof. This roof replacement was simply due to age and not related to the storms. Our technician has replaced sections of damaged decking before putting down a ¼” sheathing so the new roof can be installed on a new, clean surface- which is required for the roofing manufacturer’s warranty. NOTE: Some other shops fail to install a new wood surface, leaving customers without a warranty on their new roof.
3. The Forest River Berkshire motorhome pictured in our paint booth has already had dozens of hail dents on the lower driver’s side repaired. Our technician has now installed new roof cove panels (aluminum panels along the sides of the roof) and is getting them ready for paint.
4. This Chateau motorhome has also sustained damage from the hailstorm. Shortly after this picture was taken, our technician removed the hood (it had about 20 hail dents in it) so it can be replaced. The fenders each only have 4-5 dents in them, so they will be repaired and repainted the factory color. Luckily for the customer, the front bunk overhang on this class C motorhome helped save the windshield from hail damage.
5. The ceiling in the bathroom of this Grand Design Reflection has been replaced along with new ceiling lights and skylight. The roof had been replaced a couple of weeks ago, but we had to wait for the correct ceiling panels and trim to be shipped in from Grand Design. This one is ready to be cleaned up and returned to the customer.
6. Yet another victim of the hailstorm was this Jayco Seneca super C motorhome. We have already repaired the hail damage on the fiberglass hood and next week we will begin replacing the fiberglass roof skin before painting the hood (we don’t want any debris from the roof replacement to get on the new paint, so we have opted to paint it after the roof replacement is done).
7. Our customer brought us their Jayco Greyhawk motorhome with list of items they wanted upgraded and repaired. Some of the items completed include: rewiring the house battery (someone else replaced the battery recently and did not get it wired up correctly), replacing their jack-knife sofa with a dual reclining love seat, replacing the carpet on their slide out, installing a new 32” Samsung QLED smart TV, and diagnosing an issue with their entry steps. Once the parts arrive for the step repairs, this one too will be ready to deliver back to the customer.
8. The second Grand Design Reflection in our shop is simply getting a new slide out seal installed, as well as making some adjustments to the slide room to center it up in the opening. The slide is too tight to the rear, which is what caused the damage to the seal in the first place.

Our schedule is starting to fill up as the 2026 camping season begins to kick off, so if you need some repairs before you start your camping season, give us a call or stop by ASAP so we can get your job estimated and worked through the shop before it affects your Spring/Summer travel plans.

What’s in the shop today?

1. This Holiday Rambler Trip motorhome has already had an electrical issue for its rear slide repaired and with the arrival of the customer’s new Furrion Chill Cube AC unit today, we will soon be removing the old Coleman AC unit and installing the new one.
2. Our customer’s Lacrosse travel trailer sustained some severe water damage to their living room slide floor. The floor has been replaced and the slide room reinstalled and adjusted. All that is left to do now is install the new carpeting once it comes back from having the edge binding installed. This RV also received a new Thetford toilet and new bathroom faucet while it is here.
3. Unfortunately, this Sandpiper’s waste tanks were not emptied before being stored for the winter. This has caused the supports that hold the black tank into position under the trailer to break due to the weight of the frozen waste. We are in the process of removing the black tank to inspect it for damage. If the tank checks out OK, we will reinstall it with some new brackets. If the tank turns out to be damaged, a new one will be sourced and installed.
4. This Pheonix Cruiser class B motorhome came to us as a result of referral from another local RV repair shop. It has a slide out system made by a company called LiftCo. It is a little bit of an unusual set up and this particular RV’s slide has sustained some damage to its slide mechanism. Thanks to the folks at LiftCo, we were able to source upgraded parts to repair this slide and make it better than when it left the factory. Our techs are working to remove the slide room so we can access the damaged components and replace. them. This is the second LiftCo slide that we have repaired in 2026
5. We are finishing up the repairs to this customer’s Concord motorhome. The rear cap was damaged in an accident and had to be removed to be properly repaired. Now that the repairs and paintwork have been completed, it is time to install a new window and put the lights and hardware back on before caulking everything with clear Boss RV silicone. This was a costly repair, but luckily the customer has great insurance coverage through Progressive and the damage was covered under her insurance.
6. This Itasca Sunova motorhome is from a return customer. Our shop installed a new roof in 2024 on this RV and now it is in for a roof reseal and some maintenance. While it is here, it will get a new awning fabric for its Dometic awning (which is why our tech has set up the scaffolding along the side or the RV), a new Thetford toilet which will replace the original one from 2005, and we will repair some bedroom sconce lights and a range hood light that are not working. Soon this coach will be ready for some fun and relaxing Spring camping trips!
7. This golf cart was an extra one that our shop rarely uses anymore. We freshened it up with brand new custom paint and upholstery and now it is ready to find a new home. If you are interested, we are asking $2,800 and we can deliver within 30 miles of Springfield.

Does your RV need a little “love” before it is ready for your camping season? If so, give us a call or stop by our shop and we will be happy to discuss your specific repairs and get your RV in our shop before our schedule completely fills up for the Spring and Summer.

03/23/2026

Since moving into our new building, we no longer have the need for 2 golf carts, so we are selling one. Let us know if you (or someone you know) is interested. We can also deliver to Springfield and the surrounding area.

What’s in the shop today?

As usual we have a variety of different RVs getting several types of repairs/upgrades in the shop today.

1. This Volante is getting ready for a much needed water heater upgrade so it’s owners will be ready to hit the campgrounds this spring with nice hot water.
2. We have already completed several repairs on this North Point 5th wheel, not the least of which is replacing exterior wall skins on 2 slide outs. Now our tech is installing new vinyl graphics for that factory fresh look.
3. This Odyssey class C motorhome is undergoing some minor sidewall repairs before being fitted with a brand new window assembly and replacement vinyl graphics.
4. The owner of this Presidential had some damaged skirt panels that needed replacing. We were able to find the correct profile for this unit in our rack of stock skirt panels. Now it is waiting to have those panels prepped and painted the correct Dove Grey color.
5. You can’t tell from this picture, but the subfloor in this Hemisphere is damaged and will require repairs. We are working to remove the slide outs to access the entire floor so we can repair the subfloor, install new sheet vinyl flooring, before putting it all back together and adjusting their slide outs.
6. This Prevost is one of 2 we currently have at our shop. This one is getting a quote for some brand-new AC units to replace the 4 much older roof mount units it currently has installed.
7. Our shop is finishing the conversion of the front cabinet in this Suncruiser into additional storage. The original CRT TV and VCR have been removed, the cabinet has been modified to accept a new door, an upholstered bottom was installed, and the new cabinet door and hardware to match the existing interior was installed.

We currently have availability in our schedule to perform these (or most other) types of repairs to your RV before the Spring RVing season is in full force. But don’t wait too long, as the weather warms up our schedule fills up quickly! Give us call or stop by today and let us know what repairs or upgrades your RV could use before your next camping season.

What’s in the shop today?
Today we have a wide variety of vehicles getting a plethora of different repairs.

1. First, we have a late model Airstream that is getting some work done on it’s Zip Dee awning. It is getting the factory correct custom order teal stripe fabric and we are diagnosing an issue with the electric awning motor.
2. We also have a Vengeance 5th wheel that is getting multiple repairs including a new roof and a new section of sidewall. The structure behind the sidewall is also damaged and will require some aluminum welding to get it back into shape.
3. Next up is a Winnebago View that required some sidewall repairs. It has been freshly painted and is being reassembled and cleaned up while we wait for the new entry door to arrive, which we will install and paint to match the rest of the RV.
4. We also have this little Clipper hybrid camper in the shop for some roof repairs, as well as some other miscellaneous items we need to check out for the customer.
5. This impressive Show Hauler “super C” toy hauler is getting some slide out repairs completed. This unit has a very unique slide system made by a company called LiftCo. We have not repaired one of these before, but we are working closely with LiftCo’s tech support to make sure we have identified the correct replacement parts and repair procedures to get everything in tip-top shape.
6. (Not Pictured) We are also performing a freshwater winterization on a Volante 5th wheel that a customer dropped off today. Once the winterization is done, we will be completing an estimate for this customer for some rear body damage.
7. Lastly, we have another “super C” in the shop. This time it is a 4x4 Rebel unit. We have already completed some body and paint repairs and now we are checking out the customer’s freshwater system while we are waiting on parts from the RV manufacturer (Nexus) to complete our body repairs.

Today’s grouping of vehicles and types of repairs truly show that we work on many different makes and models and specialize in a wide range of RV repairs. Let us know if there is big or small repair on your common or unique RV that RV Incidents can assist you with.
