🏈 FUN FACT FRIDAY — NEWTON FOOTBALL EDITION! ❤️

71 TO 70?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! 😳

Back in 2017, the Newton Cardinals beat Fort Dodge in a football game that ended 71–70!

That’s 141 points between two teams! 😳

Forget defense… apparently EVERYBODY was getting a touchdown that night! 😂

❤️ Who remembers this game?! Were you there, or do you know someone who played?

🚗 THROWBACK THURSDAY — WE NEED YOUR HELP, NEWTON!

We’ve been around since 1968, but we haven’t always been known as Magnum Automotive!

Here’s a little trip down memory lane…

🔧 1968 – Jasper County Tire
🔧 1976 – Quality Muffler
🔧 1982 – Magnum Muffler
🔧 1989 – Magnum Muffler and Brakes
🔧 2003–Present – Magnum Automotive

58 years, a few name changes, and a whole lot of vehicles later… we’re still keeping Newton rolling!

📸 NOW HERE’S WHERE WE NEED YOUR HELP!

We’re on the hunt for old pictures of our shop, especially from the Jasper County Tire and early Magnum Muffler days.

Surely someone around Newton has an old picture tucked away in a photo album or shoebox! 👀

Who remembers one of our old locations or names? Better yet, does anyone have a picture they’d be willing to share?

We’d love to see what you’ve got!

🏈 FUN FACT FRIDAY — RIVALRY EDITION! ❤️🖤

Since Newton and Pella meet tonight, here’s a little fact our friends down Highway 163 might not love. 😏

Newton has beaten Pella 3 of the last 4 times they’ve played.

And last year?
The Cardinals went INTO Pella and came home with a 35–33 WIN. 👀

But hey… we’re not trying to stir anything up on a Friday. 😂

Okay, maybe a little.

❤️🖤 GO CARDS! 🖤❤️

🚗 THROWBACK THURSDAY!

Remember when finding the gas cap was practically a scavenger hunt? 😂

On the 1956 Chevy Bel Air, you wouldn’t find a little fuel door on the side.

👉 The gas cap was hidden BEHIND the driver’s-side taillight. The taillight actually moved out of the way so you could fill the tank. ⛽

Can you imagine pulling into a gas station today and watching someone try to figure THAT out? 😂

Who remembers cars with hidden gas caps — behind the taillight, license plate, or somewhere else?

⛽ THROWBACK THURSDAY

Remember when full service actually meant FULL service?

They pumped your gas, washed your windshield, checked your oil and even checked your tires.

And you? You just sat there. 😂

Basically, everyone got to be a passenger princess. 👑

Can we bring this back already?!

Newton — what full-service gas station do you remember going to?
