This may not mean much to anyone else but today was a good day! Today is the FIRST check we’ve gotten since the week Helene came raging through. It’s been almost 2 years. Every penny has went back into rebuilding this place. And we made it work because we believed in MRFC and we were willing to sacrifice what needed to be in order to get this place up and running. And now we’re finally able to pay ourselves again! Such an amazing place to be at! If you own a business, YOU KNOW!

Summer Honey Harvest 🍯 just look at the color difference! The dark is rich & bold, while the light is mild & floral. we have A LOT of work ahead of us getting this all bottled, 15 gallons! So please be patient and as soon as it’s ready we’ll let y’all know!

Jared and Suz were just on this hike with family on Thursday. We have some treacherous trails up here! Always be prepared and always stay vigilant.

We are incredibly honored to have been voted 2026 Best Campground in Avery County!

After everything the last couple of years have held for Mountain River, this one means a little more than we can put into words. We’ve rebuilt, adapted, worked some very long days with so much help and watched this little campground we love come back to life.

But we didn’t do it alone.

To every guest who came back, every person who encouraged us, every volunteer who helped us rebuild, and every single person who took the time to vote for us — thank you!

Mountain River has always been more than campsites along the river. It’s the people who fill those sites, gather around the fire, stop by the office to say hello, and come back year after year who make this place what it is!
