It was a good day today. Finally got that shakedown drive under the belt. We removed the shift kit but still chirps 2nd no sweat. With the TH350 and 340 gears she was humming at about 70-75mph. Of course at those speeds everyone was passing me like I was tied to a tree, LOL. I worried about the heat on such a long hot drive at rpm’s. But even tho she drank a ton of supreme the temp stayed under 190 and ran flawlessly!

Finally got the trans shifting nice. No more shift kit, changed the detent cable, new throttle cable linkage, adjustable Edelbrock modulator and voilà! Smooth when cruising but still chirping second gear when you kick down on it! The perfect combination!

THIS is why it takes so long to do what should be a quick and easy operation! After HOURS of cable routing and bracket fabricating in areas you can barely fit your hand…you get clotheslined at the 1 yard line! 3 contact points and not one is correct! I would’ve been better off fabricating on the the factory pedal. It’s going to be a long day on my back.
