We are officially shipping via FedEx and USP only.
Real Story:
I tried to ship a customer a package via the United States Postal Services (USPS). Trying to be smart about business, my company processes orders completely online, which includes paying for postage. I had the package delivered to the post office. The previous persons simply dropped them off because they were pre-paid packages and left.
That same day, 5 hours later, one of the packages was at my doorstep with a sticker that read something like, "Because of heightened security measures, package over 13 oz have to be delivered directly to a postal employee."
So, the next day, I took that one package to the USPS myself. I wait on a line of 10 people. There was only 1 clerk working in at the post office front desk. So, 30 minutes later, I reached the window and handed my package over to the clerk (pre-paid). The clerk weighed the package and said, "You listed the package as 2.8 oz, but it is really 2.9 oz." I said, Really? If this is a problem, how can I pay more? she said, "You can't. You have to pay again, as I can't update your cost."
So, for 1 oz discrepancy between our scales (who knows which scale is correct), I was forced to repay and request a refund online for the original postage that I secured, which was only $0.03 less.
So, I'm going to start paying more, for less hassle. I'm going to FedEx or UPS... $0.03 cost me a lot of stress today.
